I started teaching skiing at Thredbo In 2002 and over the last 20 years, I have worked in Austria, Canada, USA, China and Japan. I became a Trainer with the APSI in 2007, and a member of the Alpine Technical Committee in 2011. In March 2022, I took on the role of APSI General Manger and am really enjoying contributing to the organisation that has given me so much.

Richard Jameson

Job Titles:
  • Alpine Coach
  • Alpine Technical Director
Growing up in rural southeast Queensland I spent more time on the green slopes of Samford Grass Ski Park then amongst the snowgums in our alpine region of the snowy mountains. At age nine I was fortunate to be able to slide on snow for the first time in Smiggin Holes and loved every moment spent with family and friends. Combining my previous career of secondary school PE teaching with this passion for the mountains and snow lead me to a career in snowsports. My year is now shared between Mt. Hotham and Lake Tahoe, CA where I work with a variety of companies in teaching, training, and consulting to help our industry and partners deliver fantastic snow experiences to our resort guests. Making the sport of skiing and riding easier and more accessible to everyone has been a career long focus of mine and one I look forward to developing further with our new APSI National Team. Understanding how the world approaches these challenges at Interski and bringing this information back to our members and resort partners will continue to help us grow together. Stay tuned and I look forward to sharing this information and evolution with you all!

Tom Hodges

I've been instructing and coaching Adaptive since 2006 based out of Perisher in NSW. My favourite thing about the Adaptive industry is all the amazing people that we get to share time in the mountains with. I hope to continue to learn new skills, gain deeper insights and build stronger connections at Interski, and most importantly bring that all back home to Australia to progress our Adaptive instructing system.

Zac Zaharias

Job Titles:
  • Nordic Coach
  • Nordic Technical Director
I started nordic skiing in 1977 when I competed in a military championship race on the Thredbo Golf course. From there I continued to race for many years for the army team and by virtue of my experience began to teach others how to ski. I also became heavily involved in running backcountry adventurous training expeditions for soldiers. I completed my NCIS Assistant Instructor course (equivalent to APSI Level 2 nordic) in 1991 which was an eyeopener for me as I was finally taught how to teach. After I retired from full-time military service I completed my Level 3 and 4 nordic instructor courses and began to teach for a number of nordic ski schools on a regular basis. In 2008 I started K7 Ski School at Perisher and I am proud that 14 years later it continues to grow and is ably led by fellow National Team Member, Jane Scheer. My passion for nordic skiing has come from appreciating the value that good instruction provides. It enables people to not only enjoy skiing but also for it to become a lifelong. Interski is part of the growth and learning journey so I can help others become their very best.
