Alec S. Marlega

Originally from Albany, Oregon, Alec Marlega joined Arnold Gallagher in 2022 after previously clerking with the firm during law school. Alec graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in History and Political Science. He received his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif and first in his class. During law school, Alec oversaw the University of Oregon's Wills for the Underserved Program as an Estate Planning Fellow and also served as a Legal Research and Writing tutor. Andrew P. Parks

A.P. Parks joined the firm in 2003 after practicing with a large regional law firm in Portland, Oregon. His principal areas of practice include business transactions, employment law, real estate, and creditors' rights. After receiving his B.A. in 1996 from the University of Puget Sound, A.P. attended the University of Oregon School of Law. He received his J.D. in 2002 and was a member of the Oregon Law Review. A.P. previously served as the firm's managing shareholder. Outside of the firm, A.P. is a member of the finance advisory committee for Coburg Community Charter School. He also previously served for several years on the executive committee of the Sacred Heart Medical Center Foundation, was a board member of the Eugene Country Club, and was a past board member of The First Tee of Willamette Valley.

Benjamin M. Kearney

Ben Kearney joined the firm in 2008 after being in private practice with his father in a small two-person firm in Eugene. Ben's principal areas of practice include business transactions, business formations, business acquisitions and sales; estate planning, trust administration and probate, and real estate. He also has prior litigation experience, guiding his business and financial institution clients through disputes and dispute resolution. Ben's practice focuses on estate planning for anyone, from young families all the way through high-net worth individuals. Ben also caters to the entire life cycle of businesses and their owners from startup, to operations and transactional matters, and all the way through acquisition, merger or windup. Ben is a sixth generation Oregonian and attended Boston University on an Army R.O.T.C. scholarship, graduating with a B.S., cum laude, in mechanical engineering. He then returned to his hometown of Eugene to attend the University of Oregon School of Law, graduating with a J.D. in 2001. After law school Ben served four years on Active Duty as an attorney in the Army's Office of the General Counsel in the Pentagon. Ben has served on the Board of Directors of Youth for Christ - Lane County, has been a volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Lane County, and is a past school board member of Eugene Christian School. Bradley S. Copeland - Shareholder

Brad Copeland has been with the firm since its inception in 1993. He became a shareholder in 1995. Brad focuses his practice on assisting businesses and financial institutions in bankruptcy proceedings and numerous areas of commercial law and litigation. He regularly appears before state and federal courts throughout Oregon. In 1982, Brad graduated from the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Political Science. He received his J.D. in 1987 from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where he served as Managing Editor of Environmental Law. Greg Lusby is a shareholder at Arnold Gallagher P.C. Greg represents individuals to Fortune 500 Companies. He litigates commercial, construction, contract and tort matters along with insurance claims and disputes. Greg also represents individuals and entities in professional malpractice and disciplinary matters. He is rated AV Preeminent - 5.0 out of 5.0 - for ethical standards and legal ability by Martindale-Hubbell. Greg is a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and a Senior Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). John Roberts joined the firm in 2015. His practice focuses primarily on litigation, including complex trust disputes, commercial landlord/tenant disagreements, unfair trade practices claims, and employment matters. John is a "double Duck," having graduated from the University of Oregon in 2009 with an undergraduate degree in Accounting, and later receiving his law degree in 2012. After graduating law school, John clerked for the Honorable Karsten Rasmussen at the Lane County Circuit Court, where he had an opportunity to see many complex cases moving through the Commercial Court program, including environmental law claims, unfair debt collection practices claims, and land use actions. Rebecca S. Schwarzkopf

Becky Schapira Schwarzkopf works closely with a broad range of business and commercial real estate clients in connection with acquisitions and sales, construction contracting and financing, retail shopping center development, leasing, contract and easement negotiation, and condominium creation and conversion. Before moving to Eugene, Becky practiced commercial real estate law at a major law firm in Boston, devoting most of her time to urban redevelopment, affordable housing and mixed use projects. Becky received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston University School of Law, and her B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa.
