I accidentally fell into the recruitment industry and have never looked back! I run our busy temporary/contract placement division and have been manager of Asset Recruitment since 1998. As an accredited recruitment consultant I am an expert at identifying top candidates with marketable skills. I love nothing better than matching candidates and clients. After 28 years with Asset I have extensive knowledge of the market. The greatest measure of my success is the high number of temporary candidates who gain permanent employment through their temping assignments. I enjoy the challenges of the recruitment industry and thrive on keeping Asset ahead of its competitors. While the competition in the recruitment market has grown over recent years I take pride in the continued reputation of the company. I firmly believe the success of Asset is the result of a team effort. No one person can take the credit.

JUDITH BRIGHT

I joined Asset Recruitment in September 2010, when Asset purchased I.S. Young Recruitment Ltd. It is testament to the solid relationships that support has continued for former I.S. Young clients. I specialise in permanent recruitment across a range of industries. With more than 23 years recruitment experience I pride myself on being a ‘generalist' who successfully works on positions from entry through to senior level. A key strength of mine is identifying potential candidates and actively marketing them to new and existing clients. Over the years I have enjoyed getting to know my clients and understanding their businesses. I have a genuine passion for partnering with both my clients and candidates to provide a service that goes above and beyond what has become expected in the industry. Prior to working in recruitment I worked both overseas and locally within various industries including government, finance, telecommunications, hospitality and motor vehicle.

I have enjoyed a career at Asset Recruitment spanning more than 20 years. During this time I've experienced many changes including market demands, candidate expectations, recruitment trends and sourcing techniques. While I can work across all facets of our business, nowadays I recruit mostly at a senior level. Whether it's a Chief Executive or Chief Financial Officer position, or maybe a senior technical role, I provide a seamless, professional service to our clients. Building long-term relationships with many of Hamilton's leading organisations has been a career highlight for me, and with many of those clients I feel like part of their team! Over the years, I've built up a real understanding of the recruitment market, particularly here in the Waikato. I'm always happy to use this knowledge to provide support to our clients needing a sounding board or a little guidance on a recruitment issue. Karen Cartmill

Karen Cartmill achieved recruitment success with Asset. Karen Cartmill is a self-confessed numbers geek, but your average accountant she is not. That has given her a varied career history and, at times, has provided her chosen recruitment company with a challenge when it comes to finding new jobs. "I did my BCom in Accounting at Canterbury University," recalls Karen of her university days. "Then I went on and did Postgraduate Diploma in Finance at Massey University. I didn't do my Chartered Accountancy qualification (CA) until much later." Instead, Karen packed her bags and headed to the UK before returning to New Zealand, this time to Wellington and the insurance industry. After receiving advice to do her Chartered Accountancy qualification for the better of her career, she added the letters CA after her name.
