In 2006 we wanted to take our concept beyond Oklahoma, and ventured into Denver and Wichita with 16 additional salons. By 2012, At the Beach was operating in four states with over 50 tanning salons. Over 30 years later from the first salon, we have become one of the largest chains of tanning salons in the United States... We opened our first salon in south Oklahoma City in May of 1987. As the popularity of indoor tanning grew in the 1990s, we introduced our superstore concept to offer more variety to our customers. The superstore concept was a success, allowing us to grow year after year. In 1995, we added sunless spray-tanning units into all of our salons. Now, more than ever, Oklahomans who wanted to tan without exposing themselves to UV rays could achieve a natural-looking tan...
