CHARLES R. MOORE

Charles R. Moore has over 25 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, over 10 years of experience as a Construction Contractor and has performed complete structural design and construction for a wide variety of projects. Mr. Moore specializes in design and analysis of major structural components such as foundations, superstructure framing, equipment supports and retaining walls. He also has extensive knowledge of conventional construction materials and the use and development of software for engineering design, analysis and drafting.

DWIGHT DEMPSEY

Bio: Dwight Dempsey has over 30 years of experience in the design, planning, construction, operation and maintenance of electrical systems and facilities. Mr. Dempsey has garnered extensive knowledge throughout his career with University electrical systems. He has worked for 25 years at Mississippi State University and served the last 18 years as the Electrical Superintendent for Mississippi State University Facilities Management. Mr. Dempsey specializes in electrical power distribution design, operations, maintenance and inspection and electrical field construction and troubleshooting.

JEFFREY ATWELL - President

  • Project Manager for Electrical and Communication Infrastructure Improvements for the Port of Gulfport Restoration Program
Education: Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering Alma mater: Auburn University Jeffrey Atwell has over 30 years of experience in the design, planning, construction, operation and maintenance of electrical systems and facilities. He is a seasoned Project Manager and Engineer and has extensive experience in the planning, design and construction, and operation and maintenance of transmission, distribution and substation facilities for electric utility clients and electrical facilities for commercial, industrial, educational, institutional and maritime projects. Mr. Atwell has served as Project Manager for electrical and communication infrastructure improvements for the Port of Gulfport Restoration Program, a $560 million renovation project in Gulfport, Mississippi. The project required demolition and reconstruction of existing electrical, communication and site lighting at the Port of Gulfport. Mr. Atwell has also served as Project Manager for Advanced Meter Infrastructure projects for Clarksdale Public Utilities and Kosciusko Water & Light.

JOEY BOWMAN

Education: Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering & Master of Science, Industrial Engineering Alma mater: Auburn University & University of Tennessee Joey Bowman has over 32 years of experience in the design, planning, construction, operation and maintenance of electrical systems and facilities. He is a seasoned Project Manager and Engineer and has extensive experience in the planning, design and construction, and operation and maintenance of electrical and communication facilities for commercial, industrial, educational, institutional and maritime projects.

ROBERT WALKER

Bio: Robert has over 30 years of experience creating construction, detail and technical drawings for a variety of electrical systems and facilities using AutoCAD. Additionally, Robert has over 10 years of experience creating system maps and related attributes using ArcGIS.

SHERRY STOCKMAN

Job Titles:
  • OFFICE MANAGER
Bio: Sherry is a seasoned office manager that has brought a positive change to Atwell & Gent, P.A. since starting in 2013. Her duties include responding to and networking with clients, working with senior level management, accounts payable and receivable. She has over 20 years of experience as an Office Manager through her work for several construction contractors prior to joining Atwell & Gent, P.A. Sherry's previous experience includes working with building contractors for 13 years, organizing delivery of materials for projects, scheduling sub-contractors for building projects, performing daily office functions and overseeing daily operations of multiple building projects. Sherry's focus and responsibility was to assure that all jobs were completed on time and within budget.

WILLIAM D. GENT - VP

Education: Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering Alma mater: Mississippi State University William D. Gent has over 25 years of experience in the design, planning, construction, operation and maintenance of electrical systems and facilities. He is a seasoned Project Manager and Engineer with extensive experience with medium and high voltage power systems, water and sanitary sewer facility power and control systems, and supervisory control and data automation (SCADA) systems. Among other projects, Mr. Gent has served as Project Manager for protective relaying, control and SCADA renovations at the Okolona 161/46 kV Primary substation located in Chickasaw County. Mr. Gent also served as Project Manager for protective relaying, control and SCADA renovations at the Mississippi State University 69/13 kV substation and 26 MW generation plant.
