Charles D. Thuss

Charles D. Thuss joined Aull & Monroe in May 2011 after operating his own company for fourteen years and retiring from a career as a professional hockey player. Mr. Thuss handles account administration and back-office operations while also serving as head of marketing/business development.

James P. Aull - President

Mr. Aull is a Founding Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager of Aull & Monroe. He has an extensive history working in various aspects of the financial markets. Mr. Aull graduated from Northwestern University's Graduate School of Management with a Master's Degree in business administration. Jim has over 45 years of experience in various areas of the financial markets. While there he double-majored in finance and marketing, with a focus on securities analysis and portfolio management. Mr. Aull also has an undergraduate degree in economics and served in the United States Army in Vietnam. After his post-graduate studies, Mr. Aull became a securities analyst and institutional broker with a New York Stock Exchange Member firm. In 1973, he joined the professional staff of the Office of Investigation and Audits of the Chicago Board of Trade. He advanced to the supervisor of the Market and Floor Trading Surveillance Group, with primary responsibility for monitoring all trades at the CBOT. Mr. Aull left this position in 1975 to purchase his own membership in the CBOT and became an independent trader. From 1975 to 1981, he was a floor broker and also traded for his own account. During this time he also was an outside financial consultant to CBOT members and member firms and served on several Exchange committees, including the Education Committee and the Board of Directors of the CBOT Foundation. Although Mr. Aull retains his full membership in the Chicago Board of Trade, he left the trading floor in 1982 to pursue other interests, including a futures clearing firm in which he is a partner, and to found Aull & Monroe.

Jamie L. Thuss

Jamie L. Thuss is a Partner and Vice President of Operations with Aull & Monroe. She serves as Portfolio Manager/Securities Trader and Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to joining Aull & Monroe in 1997, Ms. Thuss worked as a retirement services specialist and as a member of a merger committee/trainer for Standard Federal Bank, now part of Bank of America, N.A. Jamie has over twenty-four years of experience working with individual and corporate retirement plans. Ms. Thuss obtained a Master's Degree in business administration from the University of South Alabama where she was named to Beta Gamma Sigma, a national honor society for high scholastic achievement in business. She received a Bachelor of Science in business degree from Miami University (Ohio), with a major in organizational behavior and a minor in Spanish. She is a member of the National Society of Compliance Professionals. Ms. Thuss enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family. She is married to Charles and they have two daughters.

W. Earl Monroe - Treasurer

W. Earl Monroe, D.M.D, is a founding Partner and Secretary/Treasurer of Aull & Monroe as well as a Senior Portfolio Manager. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama, with a double major in chemistry and mathematics. After graduating from the University of Alabama Dental School, Dr. Monroe completed a two-year residency program in Endodontics, a dental specialty whose practitioners perform root-canal therapy. Earl experienced a life-changing event that led him to change careers at an early age. Using this personal experience and his dedication to working with clients to achieve their goals makes him a valuable asset to our clients today. He served two years in the United States Army and then moved to Mobile to open his own practice. After an illness in 1985 made continuation of his practice impossible, Dr. Monroe enrolled at the University of South Alabama where he obtained a Master's Degree in business administration in 1989. He achieved an outstanding academic record and was named to Beta Gamma Sigma, a national scholastic honor in recognition of superior achievement in business and management science. Dr. Monroe has served as a consultant to several large medical practices and on various boards throughout the community including Easter Seals, Port City Medical Clinic, St. Paul's Episcopal School and Vision Rehabilitation Services, a non-profit providing eye-care to those with low vision. Dr. Monroe enjoys playing golf in his free time. He is married to Brandly and has one son.
