Dr Ashutosh Mundkur

Dr Ashutosh Mundkur is Director - Operations at Axio. He is responsible for overall operations of Axio India including Production, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Procurement and Human resources. Dr Ashutosh has nearly three decades of cross-functional experience across the value chain of the medical device industry. His previous assignment was Head - India Business, Manufacturing and Quality operations at Murata-Vios a Japanese MedTech company. Prior to that he held senior roles at Sutures India, Ethicon (Johnson & Johnson) and Mahindra Satyam in business development, Quality and NPD, Product management and R&D. Ashutosh has a PhD in Genetic Engineering and his hobbies include cooking, motorbiking, poetry, astronomy, reading and playing squash.

Dr. Kiran Sonaje

Kiran leads Research & Development at Axio and guides scientific innovation spanning the development of product pipeline, conceptualization, prototype development and clinical evaluations. Kiran comes with over 10 years of international experience in the research and development of biomaterials and polymeric drug delivery systems. Kiran held positions as Senior Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and as Consulting Research Scientist at Nanomega Medical Corporation (USA). He is a co-holder of 21 US Patents and has authored over twenty peer-reviewed research papers. Kiran holds a Master's Degree in Pharmaceutics and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from NTHU, Taiwan. Kiran is passionate about food and enjoys cooking exotic delicacies for his daughter.

Dr. Shiladitya Sengupta

Dr. Shiladitya Sengupta serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and of Health Sciences and Technology at MIT, and he is a principal investigator at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. He had served as the co-chair of the Center for Regenerative Medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He completed his Ph.D. at Trinity College, University of Cambridge, where he was a Nehru Scholar as well as a British Chevening Scholar. He is an alumnus of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where he received the Geeta Mittal Gold Medal. Dr. Sengupta has been recognized with the TR35 Innovator Award, an honor given to the top 35 innovators worldwide by MIT Technology Review magazine; the Era of Hope Scholar Award and the Innovator Collaborative Award from the US Department of Defense; the Coulter Foundation Career Award; and the Shakuntala Amir Chand Award from the Indian Council for Medical Research. He is the co-founder of Akamara Therapeutics (previously Invictus Oncology) and Vyome Biosciences. Previously, he co-founded Mitra Biotech and Cerulean Pharma Inc., where he also served on the scientific advisory board. Dr. Sengupta has published over 100 papers, including in Nature and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and he is an inventor on over 350 pending/granted patents.

Dr. SV Mahadevan

Dr. SV Mahadevan is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University, Palo Alto, California, and is a teaching physician at Stanford Health Care. He received his medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and has been a practicing emergency medicine specialist for more than 23 years. He was the founding chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford (2015-17), founding director of Stanford Emergency Medicine International (2000-2015), and currently serves as both the Director of Global Affairs and Strategy for Stanford Medicine as well as the Director of South Asia Outreach, Center for Asian Health Research and Education (CARE). Dr. Mahadevan has received numerous prestigious teaching awards throughout his career and is the lead editor of the textbook, An Introduction to Clinical Emergency Medicine, which won the 2006 American Medical Writers Association Award in the Physician's Category.

Gourav Maheshwari

Gourav leads the finance function at Axio as Director - Finance and is responsible for budgeting, financial planning, investor relations and reporting. Gourav has finance experience across leading publicly-listed companies such as Asian Granito Limited and Jaihind Projects Limited. He started his career with the finance team of Adani Wilmar Limited where he handled a consortium of 13 banks with a borrowing amount of $750mn. Gourav is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Outside work, Gourav is an outdoors enthusiast and enjoys traveling and cycling.

Leo Mavely - CEO, Founder

He has also been featured by Fortune Magazine as one of the 40 under 40 Business Leaders from India consecutively for the years 2016 - 2019, and by Entrepreneur Magazine in 35 under 35 Game Changing Entrepreneurs (2020). Leo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering from MDU, Rohtak and Advanced Diploma in Managing Tech Ventures. A national level basketball player during school, Leo continues to be an ardent sports lover.

Rajesh has over 25 years of experience across pharmaceutical and medical devices companies such as GSK, Astrazeneca and Teleflex. Rajesh holds a PGCPM, General management from IIM Indore. An ardent pet lover, he spends his time off work, travelling and reading books.

Yashas Chandra
