BAKER BATCHELDER ARCHITECTS

Baker Batchelder Architects was founded as Benjamin M. Baker, A.I.A. in 1983, a firm specializing in the design of single family houses and particularly the more difficult alterations and additions end of this market. Linda Batchelder joined Ben in 1986 after her graduation from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Linda and Ben quickly found that they shared many of the same basic philosophies of design and architectural practice... In 1992 Linda and Ben became partners. Their common sense approach to the design of buildings and the practice of architecture is appreciated by both home owners and their builders. The business of building or adding-on to older homes is so ticklish that one could consider it something of a miracle when projects are completed with no major problems. The firm's quiet, but firm diplomacy results time and again in successful building projects.
