Dawson T. Li, O.D., achieved his Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of California at Los Angeles, and then earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He practiced optometry in Atlanta for two years, specializing in primary care optometry and LASIK co-management, before coming to Li & Liao Optometry to serve the Bakersfield community in 2001.
Dr. Li is an empathetic eye doctor - and not just because he understands what it's like to be a patient firsthand following his own experience receiving LASIK! He finds community service to be extremely important, and is a member of the Bakersfield West Rotary Club, whose primary focus is giving back to the children of Kern County, and the Bakersfield Business Network. He's also a board member on the Panama Buena Vistan Foundation, which serves kindergarten through eighth grade students in the area. When not in the office, Dr. Li enjoys spending his spare time traveling, skiing, golfing, and spending time with his wife, family, and friends.

Dr. Lisa Chao completed a degree in Human Biology at the University of California, San Diego, before earning her O.D. at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA. She has trained at the Bakersfield Veterans Affairs Clinic, Empire Eye & Laser Center, and the University Eye Care Clinic in both Los Angeles and Anaheim. Today, she brings expert primary care optometry to Bakersfield.
A Bakersfield native and alumna of Liberty High School, Dr. Chao is just as excited as we are to see her back in the area to practice her craft. When she's not taking care of patients' eyes at Li & Liao Optometry, she enjoys going to the movies, snowboarding, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Eileen Ng attended the University of California, Berkeley, for both her B.S. in Biology and her Doctor of Optometry. She trained in a variety of settings, including the Reno, NV Veterans Affairs hospital and a non-profit health center in Atwater, CA, and completed her geriatrics and primary care optometry residency at the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Hospital. Dr. Ng joined us in Bakersfield in 2013.
An Orange County native, Dr. Ng loves getting to know patients of all ages and helping them maintain their clearest possible vision through regular, expert eye care. When she's not serving patients at Li & Liao Optometry, she enjoys reading, hiking, improving her cooking skills, and spending time with her husband, who is also an optometrist, and two young boys.
