The data displayed on the Xantrex GT Solar Inverter Viewer shows current performance of the solar panels and inverter. There are currently 12 solar panels connected in series. Each panel can output up to 40 volts DC each under load given the amount of sun light it receives. Panel output can be affected by ambient temperature, clouds as well as sun altitude which varies with the seasons. My panels are fixed on the roof at an angle of 30 degrees and face South West. The ideal direction would be South in the Northern hemisphere. Since the mornings here can be cloudy and foggy I believe catching more of the afternoon sun would offset the cloudy mornings. The panels will make more power in cooler weather for the same amount of sun light. The ambient temperature can affect output by as much as 10%. I have installed 12, 320 watt panels and a Xantrex GT 3.8 240 VAC inverter. The inverter is capable of handling 3800 watts at 600 volts DC. This system does not use batteries. It is directly tied..
