Belcourt's activities centered around the planning and development of residential communities, including the construction of over 5,000 rental units in Montreal, Ottawa and Kingston (Ontario), four thousand five hundred (4,500) single family homes in the Montreal area. The company also built schools, office buildings, industrial parks, recreation facilities and commercial centers. Two of these communities, which Belcourt pioneered, the towns of Dollard des Ormeaux and Kirkland in Montreal's West Island, are now considered as models for other residential developers... Belcourt Inc. was founded in 1954 by David and Michael Zunenshine.
