Alexander is a Huntington native and is proud of his contributions toward growing Borg & Borg from a local insurance agency to a full-service regional risk management firm. Alex is a graduate of Harborfields High School (2002) and the University of Vermont (2006). At UVM, Alex majored in history and education with a focus in American history & literature and special education. After teaching History and Political Science at South Burlington HS, VT in 2005 & 2006, he returned back to Long Island to work in the family business.
Today Alex strives to support his community with his involvement in many local associations. He is a founding member of the Huntington Chamber's Young Professional Committee, growing the group from just a handful of young professionals to over 300 strong. Alex also serves on the board of the Townwide Fund of Huntington and is involved with all of their charitable fundraising campaigns.
Professionally, Alex is involved with several trade associations to expand his network among Metro New York businesses. He is an active risk manager, often onsite with clients in the industrial manufacturing, heavy construction, and commercial real estate industries. Alex is also proud of the agency's franchise division, growing from zero to more than 900 active franchise clients.
Alex is married and lives in Centerport with their 3 children. Both he and his wife are accomplished skiers, hikers and enjoy traveling.

Ashley, a member of the Personal Lines Team who specializes in flood insurance, joined Borg in April 2019. After graduating from St. Joseph's College with a Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, she obtained her New York State Property and Casualty, and Life, Accident and Health licenses. She is a Notary Public and holds Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) and Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designations. During her free time, Ashley volunteers with the Long Island Rabbit Rescue.
Christine has been with Borg since 2011. Licensed in New York State since 1998, she got her start writing personal auto coverage and has spent the past 20 years specializing in commercial lines. She is the cornerstone of our Commercial Lines Marketing Team and considers insurance to be exciting and is never bored with her work. Outside of work, Christine is an active mom of three. Together with her husband she enjoys cooking, gardening and road trips.
Chris has 25+ years of experience managing personal lines insurance policies. Her experience spans from a simple auto or home policy to a complex auto and/or high value home. As an account manager, Chris devotes personalized attention to each and every client, ensuring their needs are met with both expediency and empathy. When not in the office, Chris can be found riding her Harley (which we insure!) or baking treats for her loved ones.
Dana joined Borg in 2020 with over seven years of experience in commercial lines insurance. She holds a New York State Property and Casualty license. Prior to working in the insurance industry, she received her Master's Degree in Special Education and was a Special Education teacher at a private school on Long Island. Outside of her professional life, Dana is passionate about fitness, and enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
David has worked his way through the ranks learning every position in our office over the course of his career at Borg & Borg. He currently oversees the Commercial Department. Part of his duties include negotiating with carriers, coverage review, and onsite inspections to list a few. David has also sat on several insurance carrier councils providing them with valuable feedback allowing them to make positive changes to service their customers better. David is a past President of the Suffolk Big I, a prior Young Agents (NextGen) Chairman for the Big I NY and currently sits on the board at the Big I NY. He regularly meets with elected officials in Albany and Washington D.C. to provide expert advice on insurance related matters.
David has lived in Huntington all of his life. He is a past President of the Huntington Rotary Club and participates consistently in local charity events. He graduated from Harborfields High School in 2000 and obtained his Bachelor's degree from SUNY Cortland in 2005. After college David acquired his property and casualty license and Notary Public certification while working in his family's agency.
When David is not spending time with his wife and two children, you can see him running or biking throughout the Huntington area. He also loves to spend time hiking in the local trails and golfing.
David has been in the Insurance industry since 1971. He holds an Associate Degree in Insurance, Banking, & Real Estate. David received his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in October 1985 and his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in July 1988. He completed work on his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1999 and is also a Certified Risk Manager (CRM).
David has served on numerous boards and committees including being past President of both the Suffolk Chapter of the Independent Agents Association and the LI chapter of Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters. David continues to attend numerous courses and seminars furthering his education and skill level. David has also been a member of a many civic associations and has been an active supporter of his community.
David as born in Malta, spent a few years in Brooklyn and then grew up on Long Island. He currently resides in Nassau County with his wife, Bernadette where they raised 5 children and now enjoys 11 grandchildren. He is an avid golfer, enjoys traveling and skiing as well as exploring life and all of its wonders.
Erika joined Borg in June 2014 with over 30 years of experience as a Senior Executive Program Director. She is also the Director of our National Franchise Division. Erika's expertise is in developing unique loss control programs and products for the risk management market. She specializes in the development of new insurance programs and carrier underwriting negotiations. This skill set delivers an unparalleled approach to customizing programs across a broad range of insurable markets for our clients. She has extensive experience working with several fast food brands including Dunkin' Donuts, McDonalds, Tropical Smoothie, Jersey Mike's and 7-11, to name a few. During her free time Erika is a racecar enthusiast, a hobby she shares with her husband and sons.
Joe has been an insurance industry professional since 1979 with property claim adjusting and commercial underwriting experience with several major carriers. Involved with all facets of agency operations since 2001 with Hartt Insurance Agency, Joe is now a senior customer service representative with Borg Risk Management Associates, focusing on commercial accounts.
Karen has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years. She holds a New York State Property & Casualty Brokers license and is knowledgeable in Commercial Lines. Karen enjoys skiing, hiking, the beach and spending time with her husband, daughter and the newest addition to the family Jax, a mini Bernadoodle.
Kathy has been in the Insurance Industry since 1986. She started out as an Assistant Commercial Account Executive for Large accounts. She was then promoted after 3 years to Commercial Account Executive. When she is not in the office she loves boating, cooking and spending time with her friends, husband and two daughters.
Kathy has been working in the insurance industry for over 30 years and has been a valued member of the Borg team since 2008. She works in the Personal Lines Department helping clients with their questions and navigating their policies. Kathy is a mother of three and grandmother of two. She loves long walks on the beach and spending time with her family.
Lee joined Borg in May 2019 as part of an agency acquisition of Vollmer-Adair Agency. A valued member of Borg's Personal Lines Team, she is one of our Customer Service Representatives. She has been in the insurance industry for many years, working for Continental Insurance Company and then transferring over to the agency side after raising her children. She holds her New York State Broker's license and Notary Public license. Lee enjoys traveling, entertaining and spending time with her family and friends.
Lisa joined Borg in April 2019 as an integral member of our Accounting Team. She has been in the insurance industry for over 37 years, specializing in accounting. Lisa enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, as well as with her two cats - Dusty and Smokey. Her interests include ceramics, vacationing, Broadway plays, concerts and all types of festivals.
Lisa joined Borg in 2016 on our Personal Lines Team as a Business Binding Specialist with both commercial lines and personal lines experience. She has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years, holding her New York State Insurance License since 1998. She competed in equestrian jumping from childhood into her 30's, and now spends her free time with her husband Peter, son Jack, and their dog Frankie. She enjoys the beach, skiing, cooking and creating detailed Halloween costumes.
With a career spanning two decades, Lou's insurance expertise is honed into commercial real-estate including habitational and construction.
He started his commercial insurance career with a Managing General Agent real-estate program. During his time with the program he learned the ins and outs of program design, reinsurance, carrier concerns, market viability and how to pivot in order to get the clients the best scenario for their insurance needs. This prepared him for his switch over to the retail side of the insurance industry. He spent the next 13 years training producers, managing service teams and heading up a large book of complex real-estate accounts. He works closely with his clients so they can gain a better understanding of their insurance needs. Lou is excited to be a new addition to the team. Out of the office Lou loves spending quality time with his wife, four kids, and two dogs.
Margaret joined Borg in January 2015 with 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. She graduated from St. John's University and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. She is licensed in personal lines and works in the personal lines department assisting customers with their policies. She is also a Notary Public. Margaret speaks and writes fluent Italian, and her hobbies include gardening, cooking and baking. She enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to the Caribbean.
Mary Lou joined Borg in February 2019. She has been in the industry for more than 40 years, holding insurance licenses in a multitude of states and has had her New York Property and Casualty license since 2012. She has experience in life, personal lines and commercial lines, and is currently supporting commercial lines with a focus on construction, contractors and condo/townhouses. Mary Lou loves to spend time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She is a sports enthusiast and an accomplished cook who also enjoys the beach and travel.
Mary joined Borg in January 2015 as a valuable member of the Administration Team. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and works closely with the Borg Management Team to ensure that our day-to -day operations run smoothly. Mary grew up on Long Island and is a mother of three. She likes to spend her free time gardening, decorating and enjoying her family.
Raina Arnold joined Borg in January 2021 bringing over two decades of insurance industry experience to our clients. She has held her New York State Insurance license since 2005 and her Notary Public license since 2016. With her residential experience, she is a valued member of our Commercial Lines Team. Raina enjoys spending free time with her husband Steve, daughter Shea and son Jack. She enjoys crafting, cooking and all things Halloween.
Ryan joined Borg in March of 2021, as a valuable member of the Administrative Team. Prior to working in the insurance industry, he graduated from Farmingdale State College with Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. Ryan is passionate about fitness, enjoys sports, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Sean launched his career in the insurance business in 2004, securing his New York State Life and Health licenses. While graduating SUNY Binghamton for his Bachelors of Science in Economics with a specialization in Finance in 2006, he also earned his NY State Property and Casualty Insurance and Notary Public licenses. Since then he has gone on to achieve his Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Risk Manager and the prestigious Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations, and he continues to continue his education.
Sean uses his ingenuity and diligence to better serve his client's needs. As a trusted advisor, to a diverse client base, he is a valued member of both our sales and administration teams.
An active member in the Long Island Community, Sean has served on multiple charitable and community boards as trustees and in executive roles. Sean was honored as one of the Top 30 Young Professionals Under 30 by the Huntington Chamber of Commerce and 40 under 40 by the Long Island Business News. Sean is a graduate of Elwood John H. Glenn High School and an was an eagle scout. An avid football and hockey fan, he also enjoys tennis, golf, hiking, and spending time with his young family and Bernese Mountain dog, Tonka.
Shannon joined Borg in August 2020 as a Risk Specialist in our Commercial Lines Marketing Department. A graduate of Long Island University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, she has been in the insurance industry for over eight years. She holds her New York State Property and Casualty license and Life, Accident and Health license. In her free time, Shannon can be found teaching defensive driving and volunteering for local charities. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, spending time anywhere near a beach, hiking her way through all the national parks and traveling to check off all 50 States with her daughter!
