Calvin Wilkinson

Languages Arabic, English, French Biography Calvin graduated with a Bachelor of Laws with Second Class Honours and a Bachelor of Arts (Chinese) from the University of Queensland in 2014 and was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2018. Prior to joining BIA, Calvin was a Partner at a multidisciplinary corporate services firm in Thailand. Before that, he received his legal training at a leading GAR 100 arbitration firm. In this role, Calvin worked as part of teams advising on high-value claims as counsel, sole arbitrator, or co-arbitrator in multifaceted international arbitrations conducted in Arabic, French, and English brought both ad hoc and under a variety of institutional rules and subject to a wide range of applicable laws from within the MENA region and beyond. On the litigation front, he was involved in the representation of foreign states, major foreign public law entities and multinational companies before the courts in high stake disputes and advising on world-wide freezing injunctions and cross-border asset tracking issues and related litigation. Prior to that, Calvin worked in Egypt, Ghana and Thailand, for a consulting firm, a human rights advocacy organization, and UNESCO.

Biography Noppadon Pholherm was born in 1987. He received his Bachelor of Law degree from Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand in 2009. He was admitted to the Thai Bar in 2011 and obtained his lawyer license in the same year. After that, he completed his first LLM in International Commercial Law in 2012 from the University of Aberdeen, and a second LLM in Oil and Gas law (including a dissertation in Petroleum Taxation) in 2013 also from the University of Aberdeen. He previously worked as a freelance lawyer assisting on condominium and real estate projects as well as a legal consultant of Harley-Davidson motorbike dealer. He specializes in contracts, corporate and commercial law including Fin-Tech and ICO, petroleum and gas taxation and general litigation. He is also a part time lecturer in taxation (including petroleum and gas taxation) at Bangkok University. He joined Bangkok International Associates in 2015. Languages English and Thai Biography Ronachai Krisadaolarn (Ronald Jay Cristal). LLB, JD, was born in Brooklyn, on June 20, 1942 and received his Bachelor of Law (Cum Laude), and Juris Doctorate (Cum Laude) degrees from Union University, Albany Law School. He is admitted to the New York and Guam Bars. From 1969, he was a US Air Force Judge Advocate at Ubol Royal Thai Air Force Base, and from 1972-73 he was head of the US Air Force Foreign Claims Commission stationed at U-Tapao Royal Thai Naval Air Station. From 1979 to 1988, he was the Managing Director of Leo Trustee Company Limited and in this capacity, at a royal audience, personally petitioned H.M. the Queen to establish a foundation to pay for operations for the semi blind. From 1985 onwards, he was a lecturer at Bangkok University in the MBA Program on the subjects of Business Law and Managerial Decisions, and Money and Capital Markets. In 1988, he was appointed Managing Director of Freehills' Thailand office, subsequently renamed Bangkok International Associates, a position he still holds today. He is a director of many Thai companies and charitable associations. He has written many of the previous editions of the BIA Thailand Legal and Business Guide, as well as writing articles and giving seminars in Thailand, Singapore and Australia on numerous areas of Thai law, including: Land, Buildings & Condominiums; the Foreign Business Act; Business Promotion Incentives; Corporate Taxation, Nationality, Negotiable Instruments, and other subjects. He specializes in corporate and commercial law, joint ventures, M & A, banking, taxation, commercial and residential property, nationality and wills and probate. He is internationally recognized as an expert on Thai coinage and medals. He was the Editor of the English Language editions of Coins of Rattanakosin and Medals of Rattanakosin, Thai Treasury Department, 1982, a set of which was personally presented to H.M. King Bhumibol. He edited the English language version of The Centennial of Thai Banknotes, published by the Bank of Thailand. He has twice lectured at the Thai National Museum on Siamese coinage. He attended the official opening of the Royal Thai Mint in 2003 and exhibited a selection from his coin collection at the opening ceremony.
