Christine Grant

Our Designer Christine Grant works extensively in the Theatre and Film industry. She creates colourful and imaginative costumes especially for Bilby.

Derrick Cox

Since graduating from the design course at NIDA in 1984, Derrick has become one of Australia's most versatile designers, working in theatre, opera, television, exhibitions, events and major retail stores throughout Australia. Amongst his most memorable professional stage designs are Barry Humphries' Back to my Roots (Australian & USA Tour), Look At Me When I'm Talking To You, Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, The One Day of The Year, The Real Thing, The Glass Menagerie, Black River, Oscar's Turn To Sing, Crown Matrimonial. He has also been designer for Christmas At The Opera House for the Sydney Opera House Trust and Les Miserables at the Hills Centre. Derrick was field Art director for Disney Sea Toyko working with an international team of artists. The Theatre Design course at the Australian Theatre for Young People was initiated by Derrick. He is also a gifted scenic artist, painting sets for all the major theatre companies across the country including The Sydney Theatre Company and The Australian Opera. Derrick was the production designer on the film "Arranged" due to be released later this year

John L. Simpson

John holds a degree in Performing Arts from the University of Western Sydney. John started his career in the arts as an actor and performed as a principle artist in over twenty stage productions. During that time he worked for such companies as; The Sydney Theatre Company, State Opera of South Australia, Royal Queensland Theatre Company, Cameron Mackintosh, Gordon Frost Org, appearing in everything from The Phantom of the Opera to Bananas in Pyjamas. In 1992 John produced his first production My Black Heart for the Fringe Theatre Festival in Melbourne. Since then John has produced over thirty productions and works full time creating original Film and Theatre projects.

Maria Cauchi Simpson

Our Choreographer Maria Cauchi holds a degree in Performing Arts and has worked with The Australian Opera and Ballet Company as well as performing for Television and many stage productions including The Phantom of the Opera and Anything Goes. Maria is the driving force behind Bilby Productions. She is passionate about entertaining and teaching children. She hand picks and trains the best performers to join her team. Maria, a performing arts graduate, began her career as a professional dancer and singer performing with Australia's leading companies such as The Australian Ballet and The Australian Opera Company and in productions such as Anything Goes, Seven Little Australians, The Hunting of the Snark and The Phantom of the Opera.

Tim Martin

Tim is one of our more requested performers and teachers. He holds a BA Creative Arts (Theatre Performance) and Bachelor of Teaching Secondary (Drama/Dance) and Cert IV (Performing Arts). Tim has choreographed many winning Rock Eisteddfod Productions. Has taught drama at Reddam House and currently runs DAS 3d learning programmes at schools across Western Sydney. Tim's performance credits include: Edmund in King Lear, Chino in West Side Story, Geoffrey in Stepping Out, and the twin role Tonnino/Zanetto in The Venetian Twins, Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun, Lt Joseph Cable in South Pacific. Jerry Lukowski in The Full Monty, The Boy from Oz and The Pirates of Penzance. Tim also worked on the Sydney Olympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies as assistant to the TV Broadcast Director Peter Faiman
