NETZWERK NRW

The local network bio-N 3MR is an informal association of research groups from North Rhine-Westphalia who uses nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to study biologically relevant macromolecules. The goal of our work is a profound knowledge of biological phenomena at the molecular level, the understanding of biomolecular interactions in complex biological processes, the unraveling of the molecular causes and mechanisms of diseases, and the search for new active principles and drug leads to fight diseases... Pursuing these practical objectives, calls for expertise in quite different areas including biology, molecular medicine, chemistry, physics as well as development of NMR methods and software tools. NMR based research requires substantial investments in highly specialized scientific instruments and a demanding infrastructure.
