Julie is the newest member at Blair and Associates and has lived in Carroll County her entire life. She is a graduate of North Carroll High School and gained valuable financial experience at Towson University working as an Administrative Assistant for 6 years under the Director of Finance. Julie spent another 6 years managing the daily operations of a busy local medical practice. Her experience, outgoing personality and attention to detail will be valuable assets to all Blair & Associates clients.
Julie is married, has two children, and lives in Manchester, Maryland. She spends her time away from the office enjoying hiking, biking, and running with her family.
As the Principal of Blair & Associates, Inc., I take pride in knowing each client's financial situation and then guiding them to the best financial outcome. I learned from a young age that through hard work and dedication, you can be successful in anything you attempt. I grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia on our family orchard known as Rosemary Orchards. After completing high school, I attended West Virginia University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. I attended WVU by working hard each summer and finished my degree in four years and no student debt. I then went to work for several local CPA firms in the Mid- Atlantic Area. In 1988, I received my Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, and in 1992, I earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
After more than ten years of experience in the accounting, tax, financial planning, and business consulting fields, in 1994 I took a leap of faith and started my own firm. I'm proud to say that Blair & Associates, Inc. is still going strong. Since 1997, my practice has focused on serving the financial needs of small business clients and individuals primarily based in Carroll County and the Mid - Atlantic region.
In the twenty nine years I have been in business, the accounting industry has changed dramatically. We are no longer filing paper tax returns, the internet is an essential tool, and the way we communicate with our clients is very different. And guess what, the changes will continue happen. I embrace these technological changes and make them work for both Blair & Associates and our clients. Any system, program, or app that will make your life simpler and more efficient I am all for change. Blair & Associates is a leader in using technology to be more efficient and to provide better client services over the last twenty years.

Susan Tarrant was born and raised in Sykesville, Maryland. After completing high school, she traveled with her Air Force husband for eight years. She remained a homemaker until their two children completed elementary school. She volunteered in the school system and was a substitute teacher in the 1980's. Her involvement in the school system, introduced her to the many uses of computer programs. In 1996, Sue began working for Blair & Associates, Inc. part time, as a copy person and file clerk. Over the last 15 years, she has gained experience in data entry, payrolls, payroll returns, etc. Her active roles as treasurer of the Sykesville Volunteer Fire Department and president of the auxiliary preclude her from working full time.
