Alan A. Abramowitz

Alan Abramowitz began his legal career in 1980 when he was a law clerk to the Honorable Alan Wilner, then of the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. In 1981, Alan became an Associate with the Law Office of Nathan Patz. In 1998, he joined Bouland & Brush. Since 2000, Alan has been a Civil Mediator, serving as a court-appointed mediator in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, as well as conducting private mediation. He is a member of the Peer Review Committee of the Attorney Grievance Commission since 2002. In addition, Alan has been elected four times as a member of the Democratic State Central Committee. Alan lives in Baltimore City with his wife of 37 years; they have four children and 7 grandchildren.

Alexander "Lex" Ruygrok

Lex Ruygrok first worked as an attorney with Bouland & Brush, LLC from 1994 until 2004 and rejoined the firm in 2014. Lex is a CPA as well as an attorney and his experience includes serving as a tax manager for a large international public accounting firm, as a tax director specializing in personal financial services for a large regional accounting firm, and as the CFO of a large multi-state title company. He has also operated his own accounting firm as well as a 1031 exchange company. Lex has taught tax courses at the University of Cincinnati and at Stevenson University and since 2010 he has been teaching income tax courses for the Robert H. Smith Business School at the University of Maryland. He concentrates his practice in taxation, estates and trusts, and probate and trust administration. He and his wife Terry live in Ellicott City along with their triplet sons.

Carrie M. Freeman

Mrs. Freeman is an associate attorney with Bouland & Brush, LLC. Mrs. Freeman began her career with Bouland & Brush, LLC as a law clerk. Mrs. Freeman has represented businesses and nonprofits on transactional and litigation matters, including contracts, business incorporation, compliance, employment, construction, and real estate disputes. Mrs. Freeman is from Towson, Maryland, graduating from Towson High School in 1999. Mrs. Freeman obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her law degree from Syracuse University, College of Law. In her spare time, Mrs. Freeman enjoys trail running, biking, and traveling. Mrs. Freeman is also an avid photographer and winemaker.

Dani C. Moten

Dani Moten graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administraton from Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland (recently designated by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as a National Treasure - and celebrating its Sesquicentennial). Dani has worked for various accounting and law firms. She joined the firm in 2012. Dani has one son who attends college in Paris, France; and she lives in Baltimore with her son's Bichon Frise.

Darlene Beck

Darlene has over 25 years of accounting experience in varying industries, including insurance, banking, and construction. Before coming to work for Bouland & Brush, Darlene worked for RGS Title, formerly known as The Fountainhead Title Group Corporation.

F. Michael Grace

Job Titles:

In addition to being an attorney with Bouland & Brush, Michael serves as a Regional Director for Sage Title Group, LLC. Michael has served in various capacities in the title industry for more than 24 years. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and is a founding member of Leadership Through Athletics, Inc. Michael is a father of five boys, and is very active in teaching and coaching all sports.

H. Dean Bouland

ean Bouland joined the Baltimore law firm of Fisher & Winner in 1978. There, he focused on civil litigation, estates and trusts, and corporate law. He became a partner of that firm in 1981 and remained there until 1992, when he joined Gisriel & Brush, P.A. At that time, Gisriel & Brush, P.A. primarily served as an affiliated law firm to The Fountainhead Title Group Corporation. With Mr. Bouland's energy and experience, he developed and expanded the firm to include many of our current practice areas. In recognition of his many contributions, Gisriel & Brush, P.A. was renamed in 1997 as Bouland, Gisriel & Brush, LLC. Following Mr. Gisriel's departure in 1998, the firm Bouland & Brush, LLC was formed. Mr. Bouland continues to expand the firm from its historic base as real estate title attorneys into such areas as corporate law, title agency law and compliance, civil litigation, employment law, education law, and estates and trusts. Mr. Bouland's community involvement is extensive. He is the president of two charitable foundations and serves as a board member of a third. He has served Columbia Union College in a variety of ways. In the 1980's, he was President of the Alumni Association and served on the Board of Trustees. In recent years, Mr. Bouland again was invited to join the Board of Trustees, serving from 1999 to 2011. Dean claims in jest that his greatest accomplishment in life is that he saw Hamilton. He lives in Baltimore and is the father of two sons: one is a postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkeley and the other is a medical resident in Roanoke, Virginia.

Karen J. McCormick

Karen McCormick obtained her bachelor's degree with a major in English from Loyola University Maryland. Following a move to the west coast, Karen completed the ABA approved and accredited certificate program in legal assistantship at the University of California, Irvine. She received her certification with honors. She began her career as a paralegal for the law firm of Lobel, Winthrop & Broker in Irvine, California where she specialized in large Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. In 1988, she returned to her native town of Lochearn. She joined the bankruptcy department at Frank, Bernstein, Conaway & Goldman where she remained until the firm's demise in 1992. In 1992, she joined Alan Grochal and the bankruptcy department at Tydings & Rosenberg, LLP. She subsequently branched out into the areas of estates and trusts, corporate, civil litigation, real estate and liquor license applications. In 1998, Karen joined our firm where she concentrates in the area of estates and trusts. Karen lives in Baltimore County with her husband John and their wonderful retired racing greyhounds. Karen volunteers for Greyhound Pet Adoption Maryland, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to finding loving homes for rescued racing greyhounds. Most week-ends you can find her at a Meet and Greet showcasing these amazing dogs. She serves as an assistant minister at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Fullerton. She is an avid Orioles and Ravens fan.

Regina Valentine

Regina Valentine graduated cum laude from Maurice J. McDonough High School in Pomfret, Maryland where she was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. Regina attended the Pennsylvania State University and graduated from Towson University, Towson, Maryland. She has degrees, in both International Studies and History. She was the Business Editor for the Towson Journal of Historical Studies as well as a member of Phi Alpha Theta, History Honors Society. Regina is an avid reader of non-fiction and loves to write, has a blog, and is a lover of classical, Baroque, modern and expressionist art. She lives in Prince Georges County, Maryland.

Wanda L. Demory

Wanda Demory graduated from Western Senior High School, the oldest all-girls public high school in Maryland. She has an Associate in Arts degree in Fashion Design from Baltimore City Community College. Wanda most recently earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Stevenson University in Paralegal Studies and is a member of Lambda Epsilon Chi National Honor Society. Wanda lives in Owings Mills with her husband and daughter.
