Corey Turnbull

Corey started with out team in 2020, Corey grooms all our sales department bikes both new and used. He also assembles our new bikes. He lives in Invercargill and travels daily. Ones of his leisure time passions is Drag Racing, which he also does competitively.

Derek Hazlett

Job Titles:
  • Service Manager & Motorcycle Technician
Derek started as an after-school boy in July 2000. He very quickly moved onto a motorcycle engineering apprenticeship and continued up the ranks to Service Manager. After working for the company for 12 years he decided to jump the fence to try a different environment. But after 2 years, in 2014 he decided to move back to his grassroots and rejoin the team at Brent Scammell Honda as a parts department manager and hang his overalls up. Derek is now back running the Service Department and is Head Technician. So with his experience, he has the whole shop covered. Derek is married to Tabitha and has two daughters Charlee and Greer, the girls are heavily involved with their ponies. Derek still enjoys getting out on his CRF 450 & 250's and enjoys jet boating in his spare time.

Jo-Anne Heatherington

Jo-anne returns back to the team after a 24-year break! when she was last the office administrator in 2000. She lives in Winton with her husband Grant, and has her two adult children living in the township as well. Jo-anne enjoys spending time out walking her dog and spending time family and friends.

Josh Gill

We are pleased that Josh has now joined our full-time team at Brent Scammell Honda as our apprentice. Josh started as an after-school student in November 2018. We wish him well with his apprenticeship and look forward to a long working relationship with him. Josh joins other staff members in enjoying trail rides, hunting & rugby for Midlands rugby club.

Maria Scammell

Maria grew up on Argyle Station near Waikaia and attended the local primary school then went onto boarding school at St Peters College in Gore. She has a NZ diploma in Early Children Learning which she studied in Christchurch, then returned to Southland to start her career. Maria also managed and worked in local retail and was a sales rep in Invercargill. In 1994 Maria and Brent purchased Brent Scammell Honda, Maria has worked in the business over the last 20 years and has raised two sons Mitchell and Jacob. Mitchell now lives and works as a Automotive Technician in Wanaka and Jacob works for a local Winton Contracting Company. During Maria's spare time she is heavily involved on local committees and organizes events in the area.
