Calum Royle

Calum joined BSA in 2022 as CAD Technician/Trainee Engineer. Before joining us, Calum worked in a variety of different technical roles within the local authority, postal and manufacturing industries and achieved a HNC in Mechanical Engineering during this time. As part of an initial professional development training plan, Calum is aiming to achieve EngTech status with the Institute of Civil Engineers and is currently studying an additional HNC in Construction and the Built Environment on a day-release basis with the support of BSA. Out of the office, Calum's main hobbies include hiking, mountain biking and football alongside spending time with friends and family.

David Marshall

David is a Civil and Structural Engineer and a Chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience of the built environment and infrastructure. He has led the design of some of London's deepest basements and has been involved in the infrastructure associated with deep structures such as highways, railways and buried services. David has led multiple teams of engineers and technical staff on a variety of project and has experience across the hotel, residential, leisure, retail and commercial sectors. He is involved in the preparation of bid documents and fee proposals for prospective schemes; Developing feasibility and concept studies leading up to planning and pre-planning consultations, before overseeing the output of the technical design information through to construction. He also takes an interest in the provision of company training and plays a key part in managing the company's staff resourcing. Since moving to the Isle of Man and joining BSA in January 2021, David has embraced the Island's outdoor lifestyle. He enjoys playing golf, sea fishing and exploring the natural beauty that the island has to offer.

Gordon Leach

Job Titles:

Gordon has amassed over forty years' experience in Civil, Structural and Project Engineering / Management. Combined with extensive site experience in the UK, Hong Kong and the Middle East. His commercial awareness and business management skills mean that he is a well-grounded Director of the Consultancy, responsible for the day-to-day management of the office and promotion of the business. Gordon enjoys problem solving to find the optimum solution for our clients across all sectors. He has expertise in emergency drainage works, emergency structural works, expert witness reporting, refurbishment of medium to high rise structures and structural surveys of buildings. Gordon enjoys a round of golf at every opportunity possible. He sank his second ever hole-in-one during the 2021 March lockdown and is now on a quest for his third.

Juan Garrett

Job Titles:
  • Senior Engineer
With over 20 years post-graduate experience in UK and Isle of Man Civil and Structural Engineering, Juan has worked on a wide range of projects including gas turbine power stations, incinerator plants, complex retaining structures, industrial, residential and commercial projects, large scale drainage schemes and industrial parks. His experience as a Site Engineer in the UK led Juan to develop a practical understanding of construction. As a technician and Engineer within private practice he has developed that understanding along with a detailed knowledge of complex design software and product knowledge that he uses to unlock technical challenges across all sectors. Out of the office, Juan enjoys cycling of all kinds and take every opportunity to take to the open road or throw himself down a hill (sometimes literally).

Mike Davies

Mike joined BSA at the turn of the millennium after gaining considerable experience on site in both Civil Engineering and Site Management. Since joining the company Mike has driven the company's Project Management arm and specialises in Procurement, Contract Administration and Site Supervision of Building & Civil Engineering Projects. Mike is a Prince 2 Practitioner and an NEC Accredited Project Manager and works tirelessly to deliver a multitude of project for various government departments. Mike is the Company Health and Safety Coordinator, looking after staff health and safety training as well ensuring the company complies with industry best practice. In his spare time, Mike is a keen paddleboard racer. He can often be found doing laps of the Calf of Man or training with the dolphins and seals in Peel Bay.

Sarah Vereker

Sarah joined BSA in 2018 as Office Administrator and in 2022 became Office Manager. Sarah plays a vital role in ensuring the office runs smoothly. Sarah is often the first person you will speak to when contacting BSA by telephone and she enjoys maintaining the positive working relationships we foster with clients and suppliers. Out of the office Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and watching her sons play their respective sports. Sarah enjoys running, walking and a wide variety of gym classes.
