Daniel Wells - COO

Daniel Wells is the Chief Operating Officer for CDG, Inc. Two decades ago, Wells began his career at CDG as an engineering intern. Since then, he has filled many roles, helping to guide clients and mentor team members along the way. Wells has managed the design, construction engineering, and inspection of numerous projects throughout his 20 years of experience. His comprehensive knowledge of engineering design and in-depth understanding of regulations has served a variety of municipal and private clients. His design expertise has aided in the consistent delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Danner Drake

John Kinnaird

John Kinnaird serves as CDG, Inc.'s Civil Design and Site Development Practice Leader. In this role, Kinnaird provides site design, development, consultation and fieldwork review for projects across the Southeast. Kinnaird has nearly 25 years of civil engineering and land planning development experience. He has served as a Professional Engineer and managed projects with a unique vision to identify opportunities and implement solutions to guide clients through complex site development projects.

Marc Hamilton - CFO

Marc Hamilton is the Chief Financial Officer of CDG, Inc. and is responsible for overseeing the firm's accounting and financial activities. Utilizing 35 years of corporate accounting and tax experience, Hamilton focuses his efforts on analyzing data, designing and implementing processes across the company, and incorporating emerging technology into financial activities.

Mark Pugh - CEO, Chairman, President

Mark Pugh is the President and CEO of CDG, Inc. Since becoming President in 2003, Pugh has led the effort in the growth of the firm by serving clients across the Southeast. During his 37-year career with the firm, Pugh has worked closely with municipalities, state agencies and developers on various projects. Pugh gained expertise in permitting and designing municipal solid waste landfills and was recognized in 2011 by the Solid Waste Association of North America for his leadership in the solid waste industry.

Matt Hawes

Matt Hawes has been working in many different areas of civil engineering design and project management since 2004, including transportation design, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and site design. Hawes became the Transportation Practice Leader for CDG in 2017 and provides project identification, conceptual and final designs, project management and scheduling, quality assurance, coordination with various governmental agencies, and general consultation services. Michelle Grantham

As an environmental scientist, Grantham has a vast experience with subsurface investigations, corrective action development/implementation and emergency response for a variety of clients, including private and public entities.

Randy Spence

Randy Spence serves as CDG, Inc.'s Utility Practice Leader. Spence has designed and managed numerous water, wastewater and natural gas projects from conceptual planning through final construction for more than 25 years. In addition to his contributions as a practice leader, Spence provides project development, funding procurement assistance and quality assurance and control services for utility infrastructure projects across the Southeast. Robert Griffin

Robert Griffin is the Vice President of North Carolina Operations for CDG, Inc. Griffin has 45 years of experience in the environmental practice as a regulator, consultant and chemist and has been involved in many aspects of assessment and remediation. His experience includes a wide variety of analytical chemistry associated with industrial and domestic facilities' operation and compliance monitoring. As a consultant, he has performed numerous pollution prevention and general environmental audits, procured Air, Water, and Hazardous Waste Permits for clients, and assisted in designing and selecting pretreatment alternatives and equipment. Additionally, Bob has experience in the construction oversight for major centralized waste treatment facilities and permit issuance, compliance evaluation, and enforcement of federally mandated pretreatment programs.

Robert Shepard - EVP

Robert Shepard is CDG, Inc.'s Executive Vice President and Field and Lab Services Practice Leader. Shepard has more than three decades of experience as an environmental consultant. As the Executive Vice President of CDG, Inc., Shepard works with public and private leaders to prevent, identify and remediate environmental contamination. Shepard has served under appointment to the Management Board of the Alabama Underground and Aboveground Storage Tank Trust Fund since 2003. Through an underground storage tank operator training program, he has trained more than 2,000 UST operators. In 2019, Shepard was inducted into the Alabama Petroleum & Convenience Marketing Hall of Fame for demonstrating a lifetime of outstanding service to the association, the local community, and the petroleum and convenience store industries in Alabama.

Scott Trott - Chief Strategy Officer

A planner, process designer and infrastructure professional with deep-rooted experience in public and private sector work, Trott has an extensive engineering background and a love for finding innovative ways to reach success. As part of CDG's executive team, Trott maintains a critical awareness of changing market conditions and client needs. He focuses on identifying opportunities where CDG can team with community and industry leaders to build the projects that leave a legacy worth celebrating.
