Carol Davey

Carol is a partner in the firm's audit and assurance department and is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. With over twenty years commercial experience, Carol manages the provision of audit and assurance services for a wide range of clients and has experience of statutory and non-statutory audits of varying sizes. Her portfolio of clients includes organisations from various industries including manufacturing, financial services, the legal sector and the not for profit sector, including charities. Carol's area of expertise includes internal and external audit, business planning, Revenue compliance and due diligence assignments.

Frank Walsh

Frank qualified as a Certified Accountant with the practice in 2006. He then joined KPMG to further his experience in audit, before re-joining Browne Murphy & Hughes as an audit partner. Frank is a fellow of the Association of Chartered & Certified Accountants and he is a multi-disciplined business adviser with extensive experience in advising owner managed businesses. In addition, he is highly experienced in commercial litigation, having undertaken numerous forensic assignments in both the Commercial and High Court. Frank provides practical advice and solutions to assist clients with their business concerns.

Jacqueline McShane

Jacqueline McShane is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland. Jacqueline qualified in 2000 and trained with Price Waterhouse Coopers before joining Browne Murphy and Hughes in 2002. In 2008 she was appointed as a partner. Working in the Forensic Accounting & Litigation Support Department Jacqueline specializes in family law and is committed to providing top-quality service to her clients.

Jon Byrne - CEO

Jon joined Browne Murphy & Hughes from the very start in 1989. He qualified in 1990 and is now a fellow of the Association of Chartered & Certified Accountants. In 1994 he was appointed a partner of the firm and was subsequently appointed managing partner in 2009. Jon heads up the audit and assurance department and over his career has gained a wealth of experience providing audit, accounting, tax, and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of clients.

Rachel Chambers

Rachel Chambers is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Irish Tax Institute. Rachel qualified in 2004 and trained with Deloitte before joining Browne Murphy & Hughes in 2008. Rachel heads up the tax department and advises a wide range of clients on Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, VAT and Capital Acquisition tax.

Shane Browne

Shane Browne qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. Shane specialises in Forensic Accounting & Litigation Support and manages the forensics team at Browne Murphy & Hughes. Shane has extensive experience working with clients, solicitors and barristers in a wide range of matters to include commercial litigation, dispute resolution, marital separation/divorce, financial investigations and fraud. Shane is an accredited mediator and is a member of the MFI (Mediation Forum Ireland) - Panel of ADR specialists and Mediators. Shane is a strong advocate of Mediation, which is both an interest-based and cost efficient Alternative Dispute Resolution. In addition to this Shane also deals with a number of personal tax, professional and corporate clients. Shane's personal approach and wealth of accounting experience providing business advice and consultancy services offers clients an exceptional service.

Sharon Clancy

Sharon Clancy is a qualified Certified Public Accountant. Sharon joined Browne Murphy & Hughes in 2003 and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 2006. Working in the accounting and auditing department Sharon has years of experience in providing auditing and accounting services to a wide range of business sectors. She also specialises in providing Company Secretarial, Payroll, VAT and bookkeeping services to our clients.

Tomás Murphy

Tomás Murphy graduated from UCC with a first class honours BComm International degree in 2008. He qualified as a Certified Public Accountant in 2014 before joining Browne Murphy & Hughes in January 2015. Tomás works in the audit and accountancy department of the firm, specialising in the areas of accounts preparation and statutory audit services for a diverse range of clients. He also assists in the management and development of trainee accountants within the firm.
