Kathryn Bourn

Kathryn's practice focuses on probate and probate litigation, such as will contests. She also handles guardianships, conservatorships, and estate planning. Kathryn helps people deal with financial issues after the death of a loved one through probate and other options. She also helps people navigate legal issues when someone has become too incapacitated to live independently and manage their money by helping them establish guardianships and conservatorships. Kathryn also helps people create estate plans. Where applicable, Kathryn draws on her experience in family law, bankruptcy, landlord-tenant, and juvenile dependency to creatively solve her clients' problems. Kathryn has been an attorney for more than 25 years. She built litigation experience as a prosecutor in Clatsop County and then opened her own law practice in Astoria. From 2010 to 2013, Kathryn ran the Columbia County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program. Since 2013, she has practiced with various law firms in the metro area. Before she began her legal career, Kathryn worked as a journalist, including covering Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court for a trade newsletter in Washington, D.C.

Matthew is a Portland native who graduated from Lincoln High School in 2000. When he is not representing the firm's clients, Matthew spends his free time with his wife and four children. He enjoys coaching their youth sports teams and is an occasional bicycle commuter. Matthew is an experienced trial lawyer who is dedicated to achieving the best possible results for his clients. He has tried more than two dozen jury trials through verdict and has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation, including motion hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and mediations. Matthew has been consistently selected by his peers as an Oregon Super Lawyers Rising Star since 2014, a distinction awarded to no more than 2.5 percent of Oregon lawyers. Matthew's practice has an emphasis on representing individuals who have suffered serious personal injuries. He handles cases involving wrongful death and catastrophic injuries, including trucking collisions, workplace injuries, and injuries suffered by motorcyclists, bicyclists, and pedestrians in both state and federal courts.
