BTRC

The BTRC is a locally owned and operated shortline railway located in south-central Manitoba. We were formed by local farmers in 2008 with the goal of preventing the removal of a portion of CP track that had been abandoned and was scheduled for salvage. Upon successful purchase of the track, our group established the BTRC in order to re-establish local shipping options for producers, enhance competition from grain buyers, and preserve rail infrastructure for use by local communities and businesses... BTR owns and operates 23 miles of the former CP La Riviere Subdivision, from mile 80.3 (Morden) thru mile 103.5 (Binney), serving stations at Thornhill, Darlingford, Manitou, and Binney... Commencing March 2016, CP and BTR entered a trackage rights agreement that expands BTR operations onto CP trackage from mile 80.3 (Morden) thru mile 53.0 (Rosenfeld).
