Many of my successful candidates are still thriving in the company I placed them in to this day, some of them nearly ten years later. I have always considered myself to be Consulting into Recruitment, rather than simply making placements. It is my belief that we work for both the client and the candidate and while it's a fine balance to tread, it's one we work hard to achieve... I do things a little differently in my world of Recruitment - you see, I have always considered myself to be a Consultant rather than a Recruiter - I don't run my business (or my desk) with Sales in mind, but rather with People.
