Blake MacGregor

Job Titles:
  • Director of Project Development & Preconstruction
Blake is a magician. A magician with numbers, that is. As director of project development & preconstruction, he is responsible for delivering accurate budgets that define projects under his purview. His day-to-day involves monitoring the construction market, analyzing conditions and developing creative ideas so his clients understand how far their dollars can go. Blake likes to say the A/E/C industry is in his DNA. His father, an architect by trade, had him sitting at a drafting table when he was in diapers. Visiting project sites by the time he was in middle school, he built a garage and patched tennis courts all before he turned 15. Shortly after, he worked as a union laborer and field engineer in high school and college. Although he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Arizona State University and is a member of Autodesk's 2022 preconstruction advisory board, Blake credits his on-the-job training for where he is today, professionally. As emotionally intelligent as he is technically accomplished, perhaps the strongest asset he brings to B&A's executive leadership table is inspired by being a father. "My daughters have taught me about empathy, kindness, being self-aware and truly listening more than any other experience in life," he said.

His exhaustive planning, ability to bring out the best in those contributing to the project and creative problem-solving bring value to every project under his purview. A graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Brendan is enjoying the opportunity to pay it backwards, so to speak. He is managing his alma mater, Chelsea Intermediate School's addition and renovation project for Frankfort School District 157-C. He is energized by the chance to leverage his professional skills to benefit his own community.
