Derek Jackson, Branch Manager of the Torrington offfice, began with Burns Insurance in 1992. He is a life long resident of Goshen county and grew up on a farm and ranch in the area. Upon finishing high school, Derek attended both Casper College and the University of Wyoming attaining a Bachelors of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. Derek focuses on the farm and ranch, commercial and crop needs of client in the Goshen county and surrounding areas. A highly competent and friendly staff join Derek to provide top quality insurance coverage for personal insurance needs as well. All lines and types of insurance are handled promptly and professionally in the Torrington office.

Joanna Akers, Manager of First State Insurance, is a native of Wyoming and has worked in the insurance business for over 20 years in various capacities. Becoming the Agency Manager in 2005, Joanna is currently licensed in Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota with personal lines, business, agriculture, casualty, life, health, property and credit life. Joanna is a 10 year member of 4-H, a life time member of Beta Sigma Phi, a PEO member, a Christ the King Lutheran Church member, and is currently active on various boards and committees throughout the Newcastle area.

Jodi is a Butte High School Graduate. Having spent a long time in the area she is in tune to the needs of her clients. Jodi has over 16 years of insurance experience having done everything from marketing to billing. She also has accounting and bank experience which makes her a well qualified branch manager for our Butte, MT location. Jodi provides excellent customer service by being compassionate and reliable.
Branch Manager, Ken Helgeson joined the Burns Insurance team in March 2009 bringing with him an abundance of sales skills and experience. Ken specializes in commercial and life insurance products.
Lisa Bye is a Wyoming native born and raised in Wheatland, WY. Lisa began her insurance career in 1991 working for an agency in Gillette, WY as a CSR. Lisa eventually obtained the title of Small Business and Personal Lines Account Executive. In 1998 Lisa moved to Guernsey, WY and began her own multi-lines insurance agency and served as sole producer. January, 2007, Lisa joined Burns Insurance Agency, Inc. and now serves as the Guernsey Branch Manager. A variety of lines and types of insurance are handled promptly and professionally with Lisa Bye and Burns Insurance Agency, Inc. "The Right Choice".
After graduating from Burns High School and the University of Wyoming, Mark started out managing the Agency in 1973 while working for the Farmers State Bank of Burns in Burns. Along with his Insurance duties he was also Vice-President of the Bank and was an Agricultural Lender as well. In 1982 Anderson resigned from the bank and purchased Burns Insurance. Since then the Agency has either purchased or started agencies in 16 other communities in Wyoming and Montana. Mark has served on many civic and community boards and organizations along with being active in his church. He has also sold real-estate for nearly 18 years and was recently licensed to sell Securities to customers and employers for retirement plans. Growing up on a farm & ranch outside of Burns taught Mark the value of a good work ethic, and showed him the importance of Insurance for Farmers and their crops, thus creating his interest in insurance. Being there for the customer by providing total service is the key to success, and that is what Mark stresses to all his employees within all Burns Insurance Agency locations. Our goal is to treat customers with the utmost respect and provide the best possible insurance service. All employees at Burns Insurance Agency truly believe that we are "the Right Choice" for customers in choosing an agent. Mark is now serving as President of the Agency and personally invites any customer to check into the services and products offered at any of our many locations.
Branch Manager Max Carre' joined the Burns Insurance team in 2001. Max is a lifelong resident of Cheyenne and knows Wyoming and its people well. Max is very active within the Cheyenne community. A member of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce he is a long term member of the Military Affairs Committee serving as the 2009 and 2018 Committee Chairman. Max served on the Chamber Executive Board from 2011 through 2017 serving as Chairman of the Board in 2016. Max is the current President of the Cheyenne Depot Museum Board of Directors and the Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation, a member of the Cheyenne Family YMCA Board of Directors serving as President of the Board in 2015, current Vice Chairman of the Wyoming Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a member of the Air Force Association, and a member of the Cheyenne Noon Lions Club. Max is a member of the Association of Wyoming Insurance Agents Board of Directors serving as President of the Board in 2010 and was honored by the Association as the Agent of the Year in 2013. A commercial and personal lines specialist since 1991, Max believes insurance is not just a product, but a trust.

Trudy Lawrence joined Burns Insurance in April of 2007. She was born in New Orleans, LA and relocated to Sheridan, WY in 1995. She enjoys building relationships with her clients while helping them obtain great coverage at the best rates!
