Doug's real estate career began in 1983 as a sales associate with a townhome project in Frisco, CO. His career quickly advanced after that by starting Colorado's first two fractional ownership properties, then on to executive level positions with some of the largest ski and golf resorts in North America, and spanning disciplines in real estate brokerage, sales, marketing, construction, resort master planning, development and general management. While possessing such a well-rounded and in-depth background in several real estate disciplines, Doug's specialty is simply assisting clients, no matter if they are in the luxury or introductory market. What he enjoys most in his real estate practice is providing proven, logical and valuable guidance in helping clients accomplish their goals. Doug is the General Manager and Associate Broker for Steamboat Sotheby's International Realty. He has been elected for two terms as President of the Steamboat Springs Board of REALTORS, two terms as President of the Colorado Exclusive Buyer Agents Association and four terms as a Director for the Colorado Association of REALTORS (CAR) and serves on CAR's Professional Standards Committee. He has volunteered to sit on several community boards, including the Steamboat Springs Affordable Housing Measurement Committee, Yampa Valley Data Partners and the Steamboat Mountain Soccer Tournament. He has earned numerous real estate designations throughout his career, including the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI), Registered Resort Professional (RRP), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), ABR Manager (ABRM), Certified Exclusive Buyer's Agent (CEBA) and Electronic Professional (ePRO) certifications. His knowledge and service to his clients and peers have been recognized as one of the premier brokers in Steamboat, as the 2005 and 2014 Steamboat Springs REALTOR of the Year and 2012 and 2014 "Best of the Boat" Real Estate Agent. He has also received numerous production awards. Doug's clients appreciate having his incomparable knowledge of the market and keen negotiating skills working for them, as well as the professional work ethic and personal care he delivers to each and every client. Prior to real estate he was a fluids engineer in the petroleum industry. He is a graduate of Slippery Rock University, PA, where he was a two-sport athlete. In football he was elected captain and he also participated on the track and field team where he threw the javelin. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Mary, and children Kelly, Nick and Maddie. He can also be found golfing, skiing, playing hockey or flying airplanes

Mary wears many hats in the daily operations of our office. With her wide range of skills, Mary has truly been an asset to running the back of the house, from accounting, marketing, to technical support. Having raised their three children in Steamboat Springs over the past 21 years, she has been a valuable resource for clients new to Steamboat who are seeking guidance in many areas of the Steamboat community and lifestyle. Born and raised in central Wisconsin, she hold a BA Journalism/Public Relations from the University of Wisconsin. Mary was introduced to the Rocky Mountains while in college by working summers in Glacier National Park. Upon graduation in 1985 the mountains were calling and she found her way to Copper Mountain, CO after a few months working in Whitefield, NH. At Copper Mountain, she started in lodging services and was soon appointed Resort Reservations Supervisor. In 1988 she was awarded "Supervisor of the Year" for both Copper Mountain and the statewide Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association. Her experience and insight led to involvement on a team in the development of a new hotel reservation and guest accounting system. Soon after, she was offered a position within the IT department at Copper Mountain to be the liaison between computer system users and the programming team - combining technical knowledge and communication skills. After a time in Hidden Valley, PA with young children the Rocky Mountains beckoned again, and a relocation to Whitefish, MT ensued. While there, Mary was employed at InvesTech Research, a subscription investment newsletter, applying her skills in journalism, editing, research, organization and attention to detail. There she gained exposure to the world of Wall Street, attained General Securities Representative licensing and was appointed New Accounts and Customer Relations Manager for the money management arm of InvesTech; Stack Financial Management. Just after the birth of their youngest daughter, the family relocated to Steamboat Springs which was a dream in the making. While raising three children in this incredible community she became very involved in the schools and many years of fundraising, committees and projects, and in 2009 was presented the "Friend of Education" award for her years of service. Mary has held various positions as a "virtual assistant" to a number of clients, handling bookkeeping and administrative tasks that run the gamut from tax organization, portfolio tracking and home management. Mary has also managed personal businesses, including a nightly rental property at the ski area, and a self storage facility. Mary couldn't be happier enjoying all that Steamboat has to offer and its active lifestyle community. While not juggling the many balls of her day to day responsibilities, she can often be found sneaking in some time with her husband Doug and friends for skiing, hiking, camping, golfing, road biking, yoga, and most recently has discovered the world of Pickleball.
