Tang Hong is the founder and executive chairman of the Caitec Group, one the largest and most successful businesses in the West African country of Ghana. The group currently has over 7 companies in various industries in Ghana including general merchandise, mining, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate and construction.
Mr. Tang Hong is currently the Chairman of the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies and the President of Ghana-China Chamber of Commerce. He is also the chairman of the UESTC Alumni Association of West Africa.
In 1989, he completed University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (then Chengdu Institute of Telecommunication Engineering), with a major is Industrial Engineering and Business Management.
Due to his academic prowess, a TOWEL Factory in Hefei, Anhui Province gave him employment even before he completed school. He worked there until 1992 when he joined the China Anhui Corporation for International Techno-Economic Corporation.
In 1995, after gaining much experience and expertise in international business, he travelled to Ghana to establish his own business. He established Caitec Delta Limited as a general merchant company that same year and later added other companies including Caitec Motors, Hai Hong Estates Limited, Caitec Fishing Industries Limited, Tang Palace Hotel, etc. Caitec Group of Companies now is the main agent for Giti and GT Radial tyres for West Africa; JAC pick-ups; Zhengzhou Nissan (Dongfeng Pick-ups); Sany Heavy Industry Group, Shanxi Automobile Group and Jiangling Group. The group employs over 130 expatriates and 2,000 Ghanaians.
A dedicated philanthropist, Mr. Tang has over the years committed millions of Ghana Cedis into charity works in education (through Tang Hong Foundation), water and sanitation, security, as well as various donations to NGOs and governmental institutions.
