Alexis Orr

Alexis has worked as a Veterinary Assistant since 2013 and is continuing her education to become a Veterinary Technician. She started working at Cape Fear Animal Hospital in September of 2018 and has had a passion for animals since she was a young girl growing up with horses and always having a family pet. She and her husband Nicholas are parents of two rambunctious dogs and Alexis enjoys assisting with the well-being of your pets and loves getting those kitty and puppy snuggles each day.

Angie Adams Davis

Angie Adams, RVT, BS graduated from West Virginia University of Technology with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1998 and Central Carolina Community College with an Associate's of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Medical Technology in 2006. Angie joined the Cape Fear Animal Hospital Family in 2015 as a Registered Veterinary Technician and served as the Lead Technician prior to stepping into the Practice Manager role in 2017. Although Hospital Operations are her primary responsibility, patient care and client education always come first. She constantly searches for innovative ways to improve the patient visit, the client experience, and engage the DVM and Support Staff Teams. Angie relocated to North Carolina from a WV coal mining town in 1998 and lives in Fayetteville with her daughter, Cami; four dogs-Lady, Tramp, Tucker, Chewie, four cats-Nala, Percy, Nemo, Tinkerbell, and a pet Rat named Remy.

Anita Sylvis

Anita joined the Cape Fear Team in 2000. Prior to reducing hours in preparation to retirement she served as the front desk manager and inventory manager. Anita and her husband Mike have one son, David, and three kitties, Rosie, Lilly and Charlie. Anita enjoys to spend time relaxing at the beach as frequently as she can.

Annie Locklear

Job Titles:
  • Registered Veterinary Technician
Annie has been in the field since 2001 and is one of our register technician who graduated in 2015. She recently moved to the area from Wilmington and is the newest member of our medical care team. In her free time Annie is an avid participant in dog shows where she has won many titles. She also trains in obedience, dock diving, therapy and service dogs.

Candace Wade

  • Veterinary Assistant ( CVT - Alaska )
Candace is a Fayetteville native born and raised. She ventured to Alaska for 4 years obtaining her degree as a certified veterinary technician. She has been in the field since 2015 and cannot see herself ever leaving! Growing up with animals, her passion grew stronger and she now owns 4 big fur babies. Candace special interests include anesthesia and she hopes to one day become a Veterinary Technician Specialist-Anesthesia/Analgesia. During her free time, she loves to play tennis and spend time with friends, family and her fur babies.

Casey Veater

Casey who is an assistant who started working at Cape Fear in August with experience in other hospitals and with pet training! Casey is very passionate about our Paw Plans which are a great way to get your pets preventative care at an affordable monthly price. She enjoys working with lots of pets scaled included!

Cassidy Taylor

Cassidy joined the Cape Fear Family in 2020 after a short adventure in human medicine. With more than 10 years of veterinary experience, she swiped right on CFAH! In addition to handling boarding reservations, Cassidy brings a smile to all those around her, especially her team. At home, Cassidy is mom to two human children, two dogs, a cat, two turtles and several fish.

Chelsea Shaw

Chelsea who is an assistant who started working at Cape Fear in June coming from a hospital in the Ashville area. She enjoys puppy snuggles and continuing her work in surgery and dental and has been a great addition to our team! Chelsea is a fur mama to her two pitties Basil and Koda.

Cheyenne Maylee

Dr. Lisa A. Jonas

Dr. Jonas graduated from the Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 and completed a Small Animal Internship at Louisiana State University in 1984. That same year she joined Cape Fear Animal Hospital. She proudly claims the label of "Army brat" and has been part of the Fayetteville-Fort Bragg community for over 40 years. Her major professional interests include orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. Outside of the hospital she enjoys the beach, hiking in the mountains and her pets, which include three dogs and multiple rescued cats.

Dr. Renee Wheeler

Dr. Wheeler is an Alabama native, originally from Huntsville, Alabama. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Alabama then attended Auburn University's School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, she moved to North Carolina to pursue a veterinary internship in Wendell, NC. Once finishing this internship in 2009, she began practicing in Fayetteville, NC at Cape Fear Animal Hospital. ​ Dr. Wheeler enjoys managing geriatric pets and internal medicine cases (kidney/renal, cardiovascular, endocrine) as well as skin conditions such as allergies. Over the years, she has pursued many certifications to continue find new ways to improve the quality of life of the pets she sees. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture, Veterinary Medical Manipulation (similar to human chiropractic), Veterinary Palliative and End of Life care and is working on her certification in Veterinary Food Therapy.

Dr. Sean Brady

Dr. Brady joined the practice in 2023 and is new to the area, coming from Florida where he spent the majority of his life. Dr. Brady graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. George's University in 2018 and has a strong interest in small animal internal medicine. Dr. Brady lives with his wife, who share and love their 3 dogs, 3 cats and 3 horses. He enjoys spending his free time travelling, visiting friends and family, watching sports (Go Gators!) and taking a breath of fresh air outdoors, whether it be at the barn or in nature. Dr. Brady loves helping pets, educating their owners and keeping families with their furkids for as long as possible. He looks forward to meeting you in the near future!

Dr. Shannon Estep

Hello, I'm Dr. Shannon Estep! Originally a West Virginia native, I attended WVU where I obtained my Bachelor's degree of Animal Science and Nutrition. Following, I attended Virgina-Maryland (VA Tech) where I obtained my DVM. I joined the Cape Fear Animal Hospital family in 2021 where I've had a special interest in preventative medicine and surgery. I hope to someday expand my practice to include pocket pet/small animal exotic medicine. When not in the hospital, I enjoy walks with my husband and wonderful rescue greyhound, Cookie, as well as reading and crocheting.

Jenna Morrow

Jenna is originally from Tennessee, but has spent most of her live living in Hope Mills, NC. She joined the Cape Fear Family in 2021. Jenna has a love for all animals, especially her black lab, Blaze River. In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She loves new adventures and making memories.

Jessica Baker

Jess is a Massachusetts native that joined our family in 2008 as a Kennel Assistant. Since that time she has continued to grow, becoming the Kennel Manager, and a Veterinary Assistant. Currently Jess is enrolled in a certified Veterinary Nurse program, she strives to further her knowledge to better support her team. She contributes as a supervisor and has been the recipient of an award that exemplifies her drive for compassion and excellence at our hospital. Her own furry family members consist of three Pembroke Welsh corgis and two black kittle cats.
