CAPE FEAR CARDIOLOGY - Key Persons
Dr. Brenda May-DePaola joined Cape Fear Cardiology after serving active duty for 11 years in the Navy, where she served as General Medical Officer on the U.S.S. Dwight D. Eisenhower. She was Director of the Congestive Heart Failure and Transplant Clinic and Cardiac Rehabilitation at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. DePaola served as the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology Services at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is an adjunct Facilitator at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. DePaola has brought a better understanding of women's heart disease to our community.

Dr. Bhandari was a faculty cardiologist at the Bronx Care Health system prior to joining Cape Fear Cardiology Associates.
Besides clinical practice, he has experience instructing medical students, resident physicians, and cardiology fellows and is one of the core faculty for cardiology Fellowship training at Cape Fear Valley Health System.
Dr. Bhandari is also a founding member of the Health Foundation Nepal, a non-profit volunteer organization serving underserved communities in rural Nepal.
He currently serves in the leadership group for the organization.
