            Andrew Nagel is an associate attorney at Carr Maloney P.C. He focuses his practice on Professional Liability, Complex Litigation, Employment and Labor Law, Construction Law and Product Liability.
 
In his time at Carr Maloney P.C., Andrew has taken a keen interest in Cybersecurity and Privacy Law. In addition to representing clients in cases involving complex cyber issues, Andrew recently attended the 2nd Annual Cybersecurity Law and Compliance Conference hosted by the American Conference Institute.
 
Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Nelson W. Rupp, Jr., Associate Judge for the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Maryland. Over the course of his clerkship, Andrew prepared and wrote bench memoranda for criminal motions and sentencing hearings. He also researched and drafted opinions for complex civil motions and in banc panel reviews.
 
After completing his judicial clerkship, Andrew served as an Assistant State's Attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland for four years. While working at the State's Attorney's Office, Andrew prosecuted over one hundred bench trials across a variety of criminal and incarcerable traffic offenses (including misdemeanor assaults, burglaries, credit card and financial fraud, drug possession, DUIs, indecent exposure, felony thefts, motor vehicle thefts, and gun offenses). In addition to bench trials, Andrew worked on a number of complex felony cases. While on the District Court Appeals Team, he successfully prosecuted several jury trials.
 
Andrew earned his law degree from University of Maryland Carey School of Law. During law school, Andrew was a member of the National Trial Team, competing each semester across the United States. Additionally, he was a Rule 19 Student-Attorney with the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office for nine months. As a Student-Attorney he successfully prosecuted a Second Degree Murder in the Juvenile Court. Andrew served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Richard D. Bennett of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Maryland Law awarded Andrew with The Order of Barristers, presented to the school's top advocates.

            Andrew Stewart is an associate at Carr Maloney P.C. He focuses his practice on professional liability, complex litigation, sexual abuse and misconduct, and employment and labor law.
 
Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Cheryl A. McCally, Associate Judge for the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Maryland. Over the course of his clerkship, Andrew prepared and wrote bench memoranda for criminal motions and sentencing hearings. He also researched and drafted opinions for complex civil motions, petitions for criminal post-conviction relief and coram nobis, administrative appeals from the district court, and in banc panel reviews.
 
After completing his judicial clerkship, Andrew served as an Assistant State's Attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland for four years. While on the district court team, Andrew dedicated a substantial amount of his time to Driving While Impaired by Controlled Dangerous Substance cases, including preparation for a Daubert  motion to suppress the testimony of a police officer who was qualified as a "Drug Recognition Expert" in response to the Rochkind v. Stevenson Court of Appeals decision in 2020. Andrew also handled several district court appeals and circuit court matters, gaining jury trial experience.
 
Andrew earned his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. During law school, Andrew was on Syracuse Law Review, serving as an Associate Note Editor. Andrew was a member of the Justinian Honor Society, and received CALI Awards in Evidence, Civil Procedure, Trial Practice, and Legal Writing. Andrew also interned for the Honorable Glenn T. Suddaby, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.

Prior to joining the firm, Colin served as a law clerk to the Honorable William T. Newman, Jr., Chief Judge for the Arlington County Circuit Court, where he drafted numerous written opinions for the Chief Judge and managed the civil motions docket and criminal sentencing docket caseloads.
 
Colin graduated from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary, which he attended on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia Academic Scholarship. A member of the Bill of Rights Journal, Colin's student note "Not Gill-ty: Challenging and Providing a Workable Alternative to the Supreme Court's Gerrymandering Standing Analysis in Gill v. Whitford" was published in 2020. Colin served as President of the Equality Alliance, leading the effort to re-establish William & Mary's LGBTQ+ legal and social advocacy organization. He was also a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honors Fraternity.
 
During law school, Colin interned with the Honorable Henry E. Hudson, Senior Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.             Ed Krill has been practicing business law with a focus on health care and hospitals for more than 40 years. He helps clients find solutions to regulatory and contractual problems that make business sense and that avoid litigation and protracted controversy.
 
Ed counsels healthcare providers and professionals on a variety of issues, including credentialing and accreditation standards, licensure, discipline, labor and employment matters, practice structure and the buying and selling of practices and interests in practices. He is well-versed in Medicare regulations and other professionals. Ed assists physicians and hospitals with regulatory compliance, sanctions, and the continuous changes in U.S. health policy and regulation.
 
Ed is a frequent speaker on health law topics at seminars and taskforce meetings of the American Health Lawyers Association, District of Columbia Hospital Association, and Academy of Medicine of Washington, DC.             Peter further serves as outside counsel to large and small businesses.             Jim Steele focuses his practice on insurance coverage, professional liability, and construction. Jim regularly counsels insurers on complex coverage matters and litigates insurance coverage disputes. He also defends clients in construction cases and personal injury matters.
 
Jim has wide-ranging experience in the state and federal trial and appellate courts of the District of Columbia and Maryland.             Jan Simonsen is a trial attorney focused on mass tort and toxic tort litigation, retail litigation, and professional liability. She represents retailers, manufacturers, home builders, and other clients in mass tort litigation in state courts, federal courts, and multi-district litigation (MDL).
 
Jan has represented clients in many product liability cases involving large machinery, including cement mixers, boilers, conveyer belts, yachts, and cranes. She advises several large retailers in risk management issues on a national level as well as in litigation, including a multi-claim case involving tainted food from a large gourmet retailer in the Washington metropolitan area.
 
Her approach is marked by looking at the "big picture" in each case, and by trying to resolve disputes in a manner that is in her clients' best interests, not only from a legal perspective, but from a business perspective as well.

In addition to her practice at the firm, Jan joined George Washington University Law School's faculty as an adjunct professor for the fall 2015 semester. Jan instructs the Fall Trial Advocacy Class, examining topics related to all aspects of the trial process, including openings, direct examinations, cross examinations, expert witnesses, and summations. Jan has also mediated dozens of cases successfully as a certified court mediator in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Ken grew up in the coal country of southwestern Virginia before receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Tech and a Law Degree from Washington and Lee University. He began his career in Raleigh County (WV) and became the Secretary/Treasurer for the Raleigh County Bar Association in 1988 and a Member of the West Virginia State Bar Association's Employment Law Committee in 1989.
 
Ken has extensive history with the D.C. Defense Lawyers' Association, serving as President from 2007-2008 and as a Member of the Board of Directors from 2008-2012. Ken is also active in The Barristers of Washington, DC, an exclusive, non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining high standards of legal ethics among its members. He was named a Member of the Executive Committee in 2003 and elected President from 2011-2012.             Kevin Murphy has earned a reputation as an effective advocate, counselor, and litigator.             Paul Maloney is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice in product liability, professional liability, and commercial litigation. Paul has over 35 years of trial experience and has tried more than 300 cases. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers.
 
Before joining the firm in 1984, Paul served as an Assistant State's Attorney for Prince George's County, Maryland. Previously he clerked for the Hon. Joseph M. Hannon, Superior Court Judge for the District of Columbia.
 
In 1987, Paul was appointed Associate Independent Counsel to James C. McKay in the investigation of whether former White House aide Lyn Nofziger illegally lobbied his former administration colleagues on behalf of private clients.
