Brenda has been with the firm for over 27 years. She oversees the office and the staff. She also works along side of Ms. Tomberlin in all disability cases. She has been working on disability cases for 25 years. She can answer most if not all of the questions you may have from applying for benefits to having a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge. It is her passion, along with Ms. Tomberlin, to see that you receive the benefits to which you deserve as timely as possible.

Lucy Tomberlin

Lucy Tomberlin was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia and graduated from Valdosta High School. She received a B.A. in History at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia before attending law school at the University of Georgia. She graduated from law school in 1993 and returned to Valdosta to practice law. She is admitted to practice in both Georgia and Florida. Ms. Tomberlin is a life long member of Christ Episcopal Church where she is an Altar Guild team leader. She formerly served on the church Vestry, including a term as Vestry secretary in 2013. She is an active member of Quota International of Valdosta, an international service organization that supports local charities. She is a past club and district officer. She is also a member of the Lowndes County Historical Society and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. Ms. Tomberlin is a two time cancer survivor (Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Breast Cancer). When not practicing law, she enjoys reading, gardening, walking, and practicing yoga. She cheers for the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. Ms. Tomberlin limits her practice solely to the field of Social Security. She represents Social Security claimants at all stages from the initial application through the Appeals Council. Although the majority of her Social Security cases are disability claims, she has also handled a variety of other Social Security issues including survivor's benefits, retirement claims, and overpayment cases.

Luke E. Closson III - CEO

Luke Closson is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and has been a Valdosta resident since 1966. He came to Moody Air Force Base as a student pilot and was assigned as an instructor pilot in the T-38 aircraft. He is a 1979 graduate of the Woodrow Wilson College of Law, Magna Cum Laude, and is admitted to the Georgia and Federal Bars. He primarily practices in the areas of workers' compensation for injured workers, social security and he represents pilots and mechanics in FAA related matters. Mr. Closson is a highly experienced pilot with over 20,000 flying hours, a certified flight instructor, A&P mechanic and FAA Designated Pilot Examiner. He has represented claimants at all levels of State and Federal Court as well as all administrative levels with the Georgia State Board of Workers' Compensation and the Social Security Administration. He is a Director of the Georgia Injured Workers Advocates (GIWA) and the Work Injury Network-PAC (WIN-PAC) as well as a sustaining member of the National Association of Claimants Representatives (NOSSCR). Luke Closson has been a speaker at national and state training programs for both lawyers and pilots. Luke E. Closson III was born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia. He graduated from Valdosta State College and earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in 1988. After receiving his commission, he left Valdosta and served over 25 years in the United States Air Force as a Logistics Officer, retiring in 2017 in the grade of Colonel. During his Air Force career, he served in multiple command tours and deployments around the world including the Germany, Republic of Korea, Iraq and Qatar. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, he returned to Georgia to attend law school and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Georgia State University's College of Law in 2017. He then returned home to Valdosta and joined the firm in 2017. He confines his practice to criminal defense and workers' compensation law. In his criminal practice, he handles all types of cases from serious traffic offenses, including DUI, to much more serious offenses including drug charges, serious property crimes, including burglary, theft or damage to property, and crimes against other persons such as violent crimes, sex crimes and murder. In his workers' compensation practice, he only represents injured workers. He represents injured workers fighting for benefits they are entitled to under the Georgia Workers' Compensation Act. He actively negotiates with adjusters and lawyers representing insurance companies and represents client's in front of an administrative law judge if the case requires litigation.
