Christine Fowler

Christine officially joined the CCER team in October 2009. As the Continuing Education Coordinator, Christine supports both the Northwest ADA Center and JDVRTAC grants. Christine provides technical assistance about the ADA through the Northwest ADA Center's disability hotline. She also provides presentations to the community on topics such as Disability Language and Etiquette. Christine also creates surveys, assists in accounting, and organizes CCER training events.

Dr. Kathe Matrone

Dr. Kathe Matrone, CCER Director, retired from a long career in Vocational Rehabilitation on March 31, 2020. She has served as a counselor, VR agency training director, researcher, continuing education program director, and professor, as well as a mentor to many. We have all benefitted from, and appreciated her intelligence, vision, and commitment to the field, as well as her thoughtful kindness. Kathe has been the heart of CCER for over fifteen years and we will really miss her! We know that many of you want to congratulate her, and wish her well.

Elizabeth Boland

Beth is well known to the Region X rehabilitation community and a longtime CCER partner. She is currently one of the CCER trainers for the WA Vocational Rehabilitation Institute. In addition to her work with CCER, Beth is a Professor and Academic Program Director of the MA in Rehabilitation Counseling (RC) program at Western Washington University (WWU). She is also the Assistant Director of the Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation (TVR) Institute at Northwest Indian College. Beth has more than 25 years of experience as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and RC educator with research interests in (a) RC education, (b) return-to-work for individuals with significant disabilities, and (c) professional leadership. Beth holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After receiving her master's degree, she worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Nebraska for three years. Upon completing her doctoral degree, Beth joined the faculty at the University of Florida's Department of Rehabilitation Counseling. During her 4½ years at UF, she taught undergraduate courses in Rehabilitation Services, graduate courses in Rehabilitation Counseling, and doctoral courses in Rehabilitation Science. Beth joined the MA in RC Program at WWU in December 2004.

Eva Larrauri

Areas of Expertise Eva joined the University of Washington, Center for Continuing Education in Rehabilitation (CCER) in March 2014 and was the Northwest ADA Center Assistant Director. She provided lead support, training, and strategic implementation of daily activities and operations of the NW ADA Center. In her current position, as the Assistant CCER Director of Programs, she coordinates opportunities for integration and synergy across CCER projects and helps lead in the development, management, and integration of innovative and strategic projects that support both the Center's mission and long-term financial growth. As the Director of Accessible Design and Innovative Inclusion (ADII) at CCER, she directs the daily management of projects related to comprehensive accessibility assessment. She provides consultation and guidance on access to programs and services, policy and systems improvement, and other provisions of the ADA related to federal and state requirements for businesses, state and local governments, and customers. Additionally, she provides technical assistance, training, and consultation services on various projects including JDVRTAC, Vocational Rehabilitation Coalition for Region 10 (AK, ID, WA, and OR), Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisory Academy, Traumatic Brain Injury in Corrections, and other criminal justice systems project nationwide.

Linda Clemon-Karp

Areas of Expertise: Linda joined the Northwest ADA Center in June of 2019. She provides outreach, technical assistance, and training for professionals, businesses, state and local governments, and their customers to increase awareness of ADA requirements, guidelines, and protections.

Mell Toy

Mell joined the Northwest ADA Center in October of 2018 as the assistant director of the ADA Center. Her role includes providing outreach, technical assistance, and education so that businesses, state and local governments, and their customers are aware of ADA requirements, guidelines, and protections.

Paul Dziedzic

Job Titles:
  • Director of Leadership Institute
Areas of Expertise Paul specializes in facilitation and strategic consulting. He frequently uses these skills as a part-time member of the Northwest ADA Center staff. Paul provides assistance, guidance, and education to policy makers and those working to impact policy decisions with strategy consultation and facilitation on initiatives in the areas of services and opportunities for people with disabilities. Paul is the former Special Assistant to the Governor of Washington on Substance Abuse Issues and the former Director of the Washington Department of Services for the Blind. He also served as President of the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation. Paul has provided leadership training to over 400 rehabilitation leaders and others in the Northwest and Mountain states. He earned a B.A. Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame in Government.

Sara Cravens

Areas of Expertise Sara joined the CCER team as the Program Assistant in January 2017. She spends her time assisting staff with projects, coordinating some meetings, and taking on other organizational tasks. Sara is also here to assist with graphic design, both print and web-based.

Tammi Olson

Job Titles:

Areas of Expertise Tammi has been with CCER for 20 years as the Conference Coordinator and has now transitioned over to the ADII (Accessible Design and Innovative Inclusion) program helping Eva de Leon. She has years of experience in ADA compliance as well as arranging site and material accessibility. She now works on projects related to accessibility assessment and the ADA. She also keeps an eye on the day-to-day operations of the CCER offices using her finely-tuned troubleshooting skills. You may receive an email from her, or you may meet her on the telephone.
