David Pena

David has been a solicitor since 2001, commencing his legal career as a Court Officer to a NSW Supreme Court Judge. In 2010, David joined the CDQ team working in the Compensation Department. He takes great pride and satisfaction in achieving fair outcomes for those who have been unfairly wronged and who have suffered injustice. David is passionate about ensuring that all individuals have equal access to justice and excellent legal representation. In 2014, David become an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law. He works exclusively in this field and is able to assist clients with a wide range of compensation matters. His clients describe David as a passionate and empathetic lawyer with a keen desire to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients.

Emily Hancock

Emily Hancock is a junior solicitor working primarily in the wills and estates practice area at CDQ. Her interest in law was initially sparked while she was studying psychology at Sydney University and she participated in the "Not Guilty Project", which involved law and psychology students working together to review convictions. Wanting to see first-hand what a career in law would look like, Emily joined the CDQ team as a receptionist in 2016. In 2017 she began studying part-time to gain her legal qualifications while assisting the CDQ team across a wide range of areas including wills and estates, personal injury, commercial, leasing and family law matters. Following her admission as a solicitor in October 2022, Emily has been working primarily in the field of wills and estates and enjoys working with clients to identify their needs and develop appropriate strategies to protect their assets. During her time at CDQ she has gained invaluable experience working with a broad cross-section of clients. Emily's warm and friendly nature immediately puts clients at ease, regardless of their situation, and she is highly regarded for her pragmatic and professional approach to work. Outside of the office, Emily is a keen runner and a member of two running clubs. You will find her at her local Parkrun most Saturdays and she has also been known to travel inter-state and internationally for running events. When she isn't running, Emily enjoys reading, swimming and planning her itinerary for future trips.

Fiona Lei

Fiona is an experienced solicitor in Colin Daley Quinn's busy Property and Conveyancing team. With advanced language skills in Mandarin and Cantonese, Fiona is a valuable member of the CDQ team who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. She enjoys being active in the community, as well as the profession, and has been Young Lawyers representative of the Eastern Suburbs Law Society since 2019.

Heather Perrin

Heather Perrin joined CDQ in 2010, bringing considerable management and administrative experience to the team. At CDQ, Heather is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the firm, as well as the ongoing development and management of the practice, its staff and its resources. She is committed to the provision of service excellence, and works hard to ensure that all CDQ clients receive the highest quality service possible in all areas of the practice. Prior to joining CDQ, Heather was the Office Manager for a joint venture between two large companies, operating from the Desalination Plant in Sydney and an office in Port Botany. In this position she managed up to 400 office staff and over 1,000 on-site contractors, whilst gaining valuable HR skills, project management, change management and process improvement expertise. Above all Heather is a people person, utilising her skills and knowledge of workplace culture and management to ensure that the CDQ team provides clients with the best possible advice and representation, whilst exceeding service expectations.

Janelle Carew

Qualifications LLB Accredited Specialist, Personal Injury Law Memberships Law Society of NSW St George/Sutherland Regional Law Society Janelle joined Colin Daley Quinn in 1996 after working for a number of other small and medium sized city-based legal firms. She began her legal career in 1985 and has undertaken a wide variety of legal work since then, gaining experience across a number of fields of law. At CDQ, Janelle works primarily as the Personal Assistant to Geraldine Daley and David Pena, and provides vital administrative support to the Personal Injury Team. She has also worked within our Wills & Estates team and continues to provide assistance in this field when required. Outside of Colin Daley Quinn, Janelle is a mother of two and a dedicated member of the NSW Umpires & Scorers Association. She has been the permanent scorer for the UNSW 1 st Grade Men's cricket team in the Sydney Premier Cricket Competition since 2014.

Joanne Bennett

Joanne Bennett is the personal assistant to CDQ Director, Tim Daley, as well as providing administrative support to the Commercial Law, Family Law and litigation solicitors at CDQ. Having worked with the firm for many years, Joanne has gained significant experience across a number of fields and enjoys working with clients on a range of issues. Meticulous, professional and highly-organised, Joanne works closely with Tim, Kara Cook and Katrina Beltran to achieve the best possible outcome for all clients - whether they are personal clients or commercial clients. Julie Holdsworth

Julie has recently joined CDQ in the role of Receptionist after working in a similar role for both NSW Rugby League and another legal practice in the Sutherland Shire. As the first point of contact for clients, Julie brings a professional yet warm and welcoming manner that reflects the firm's overall approach. She particularly enjoys working in a legal practice and loves dealing with people, gaining great satisfaction from helping all of our clients and making them feel comfortable.

Kara Cook

Kara Cook is a Family Lawyer who brings a wealth of knowledge to the CDQ team. With experience in issues ranging from divorce and separation through to negotiating property settlements and parenting arrangements, Kara can support clients and advise them on all aspects of their dispute, the processes and legal procedures involved, as well as the best way to move forward. Above all, she is pragmatic and fair, representing the firm's clients with integrity and looking after their best interests while providing guidance every step of the way. Kara understands the challenges and emotional trauma involved in the breakdown of a relationship or family unit. She is both empathetic and approachable and works hard to minimise the stress experienced by clients while listening to their concerns and keeping them informed of their rights and obligations during a family dispute. Kara is committed to resolving parenting and property disputes through negotiation or mediation wherever possible and avoiding the need for potentially costly and lengthy court action. In addition to Family Law, Kara can also apply her knowledge and expertise in the field of litigation and dispute resolution to the commercial arena and has experience representing clients in Court and providing advice on their litigation matters. This cross-over of experience offers benefits in both fields as Kara combines a strong understanding of business structures and bankruptcy, with a professional and friendly approach that puts clients at ease immediately. A southern Sydney local, Kara attended the University of Wollongong and worked for both a Sydney based law firm and a Sutherland Shire practice before joining CDQ.

Katrina Beltran

Katrina Beltran is an experienced and accomplished litigator who has expertise in a variety of areas including criminal law, family law and commercial law. With a professional, yet warm and friendly, manner, Katrina is committed to achieving the best possible outcome for her clients regardless of their situation. Throughout her career, Katrina has successfully represented clients both in Australia and internationally facing criminal charges ranging from traffic offences through to the possession, manufacturing and trafficking of drugs, assault and more serious criminal matters. During this time, she developed a special interest in matters relating to mental health and is also experienced in representing clients suffering from mental health or cognitive impairment and Section 14 applications. Katrina also works in the field of family law where she has broad experience, including the provision of advice and representation in negotiating property and parenting disputes, binding financial agreements, and Consent Orders. She is also a skilled negotiator and has achieved considerable success in resolving matters through lawyer-to-lawyer negotiations and mediation, as well as through the Court system if required. In addition to her criminal law and family law practice, Katrina also works with business clients providing advice on a range of commercial law matters. Katrina entered the legal profession after running her own successful business and working in creative roles with design and communications consultancies. This experience has proven invaluable, not only in understanding the pressures many of our clients' face in their daily lives, but also in terms of discovering her own passion for helping others and the legal profession. Living locally, Katrina gained her legal qualifications from the University of Technology in Sydney and worked for a south-west Sydney based law firm before joining the CDQ team. Leanne Estcourt joined CDQ in 2017, bringing administrative experience to the team. Prior to joining CDQ, Leanne served 9 years in the Royal Australian Navy followed by an office role for Spotless. Leanne has always worked in a team environment and thrives on positive outcomes.

Tim Daley

Tim Daley is an accomplished commercial and family lawyer who brings extensive senior management experience and a high level of commercial acumen to his role as Director of Colin Daley Quinn. Along with his team, Tim provides advice and representation to a host of clients on complex commercial issues including share and business sale agreements, licensing agreements, commercial contracts and corporate governance issues. He works closely with businesses of all sizes including small to medium family owned and operated organisations through to large privately owned entities providing in depth knowledge and advice. Tim also advises clients in Estate Administration and Planning including how to minimise the risk of having your Will challenged, the potential impact of family law issues on asset protection, the various taxation implications of Estate Planning and the benefits of Testamentary Trusts. In addition to Commercial Law and Wills & Estate Planning, Tim leads the CDQ Family Law team using his extensive commercial experience and business acumen to quickly identify the issues at hand. His experience in family law includes dealing with financial issues, property settlements, superannuation splitting, parenting arrangements, child support matters and de facto relationships. Through Tim's extensive knowledge and experience, many clients are able to settle and resolve their matter outside the Court system. The local community is important to Tim and this is shown by his active role with the Kogarah Lions Club, St George Hospital charity barbeques (currently suspended whilst major constructions works are carried out) and his position on the board at the St George & Sutherland Medical Research Foundation. Tim is also an honorary member of the North Bondi Surf Club. Tracey Clements

Tracey is an experienced Conveyancer in the Property Team at Colin Daley Quinn. Tracey began her career in legal administration, working with a number of law firms around Sydney including one of the Top Tier city-based firms. After working for some time in their property law practice area she developed a strong interest in the field, later going on to complete her Conveyancing Law & Practice Program at Macquarie University as a licensed Conveyancer in her own right and is a member of the AIC (NSW). In her role at CDQ, Tracey is responsible for assisting clients with all aspects of leasing including commercial, retail and residential arrangements. She has worked closely with, and represented, both landlords and lessees and has a strong understanding of the relevant legislation, as well as our clients' rights and obligations. In addition to leasing, Tracey also undertakes a large amount of residential conveyancing work for CDQ clients, whether they are first home buyers, investors, vendors or purchasers. Tracey's outstanding communication and organisational skills ensure clients' property matters run as smoothly as possible and she ensures that they receive regular updates on the progress of their transactions. Tracey particularly enjoys the challenge and the fast pace of property law, as well as the fact that no two days are the same!
