Anthony Ferguson - Founder, President

Anthony Ferguson, Certified Financial Analyst, Chartered Market Technician (CMT), and investment advisor, is President of CFAL, one of the leading investment firms in The Bahamas with over $1.9 billion in Assets Under Management. He is a Director of Colina Insurance Ltd., AF Holdings Limited, St Matthew Capital, and Arria NLG. Mr. Ferguson is a leading authority on matters of economic and national significance, appearing frequently as a guest on local talk shows and at industry events and conferences. Before establishing CFAL, Mr. Ferguson was the President of International Portfolio Analytics, an international investment firm based in The Bahamas, which held assets under management in excess of B$600 million. Over the last 35 years, he has held key positions at a number of internationally-based financial institutions with Bahamian offices. In addition to his professional experience, he has served as President of the CFA Society of The Bahamas and was President and Director of the Bahamian Association of Investment Management Research (now the CFA Institute). Mr. Ferguson holds a B.B.A. from Acadia University and is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Business Executive Program.

Mr. James Smith is the former Governor of the Central Bank of The Bahamas serving during the period 1987 - 1997. He also served as a Senator and Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance (2002 - 2007). He has held senior positions in the Public Sector including Undersecretary in the Cabinet Office and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. Mr. Smith is widely acknowledged as an expert on the local economy in matters of monetary and fiscal policy development and is a respected member of the greater Bahamas community. He has served in several roles, leading Bahamian delegations on investment promotion and trade missions during his tenure as the country's Ambassador for Trade. He had once served as the Chairmanship of the Negotiating Group on Services in the Free Trade Areas of the Americas (FTAA) process. Mr. Smith has served as Chairman of the Bahamas Maritime Authority, The Paradise Island Bridge Company and The Bahamas Development Bank and as a Director on several private sector Boards. Mr. Smith is committed to guiding CFAL's executives on the company's strategic goals providing insight on new and existing operations. He is passionate about business and finance and encourages an exploration of big ideas and transforming them into real solutions, further driving CFAL to the next stage in its development. He also lends his experience to the firm's major community participation - the Junior Investor Program.

Mr. Richard R. Pinder

Mr. Richard R. Pinder is responsible for the Reconciliation Department and day-to-day banking operations of CFAL. He joined CFAL in 2006 in the Reconciliation Department and was promoted to Operations Supervisor in 2009. He also serves as the Chairman of the CFAL Junior Investor Education Program, which provides an opportunity for high school students to gain exposure to the financial industry. Since 2010, the program under his guidance has expanded from New Providence only and now includes schools on Grand Bahama and Andros. Mr. Pinder earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada where he was an active member of the Business Society and a Masters of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Miami, Florida.

Mrs. Jeanelle C. Francis

Mrs. Jeanelle C. Francis is the Manager of the Private Wealth Services Department. In this role, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm's Private Wealth Services as well as its mandate to support local individual and institutional custodial clients, local capital markets activities and local and international trade execution. She also serves as a member of CFAL's investment committee. Mrs. Francis is an alumni of The University of the Bahamas and Georgia State University (J. Mack College of Business) and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® and Trust Estate Practitioner (TEP) designations.

Mrs. Jomarie Thompson

Mrs. Jomarie Thompson joined CFAL in August 2009 and brings over ten years of experience in the Information Technology field to CFAL. Her background and experience as an IT professional has helped to keep CFAL on the cutting edge of technology. In addition to her IT responsibilities, she was also appointed as the Office Manager, overseeing the day-to-day supervision of the administrative team and oversight for special projects. Mrs. Thompson holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science from Lincoln University, Pennsylvania and holds the Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) designations.

Mrs. Sophia Thurston

Mrs. Sophia Thurston joined CFAL in 2008 as Vice President, Pension Administration and Operations, bringing with her over 17 years of financial services experience. She supports the strategic goals of the company, ensuring the growth and day-to-day functioning that promotes the well-being of our clients and employees. At CFAL, she is passionate about the company strategy for enhancing client relationships and driving operational processes and technology. In her role she also works closely with CFAL's current and prospective pension clients to demonstrate how CFAL can deliver on their financial and retirement needs. She previously worked as an Operations Manager at a major private bank and has experience that includes Funds Transfer, Securities and Custody and Documentation. She has also held oversight of Fund Accounting, Investor Relations, Financial Services and Corporate Services at a Mutual Fund Company. She also served as a Senior Auditor at one of the four leading accounting firms in The Bahamas. Mrs. Thurston is a member of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants and a former member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. Sophia earned her Master of Business Administration at the University of Phoenix Arizona in Human Resource Management, her Bachelor of Business Administration at Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada and her Associate Degree at The College of the Bahamas (currently the University of the Bahamas).

Mrs. Tamara Evans

Mrs. Tamara Evans joined CFAL in September 2000 and has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry including insurance, offshore and commercial banking, and investments. She serves as the firm's Manager of Settlements and is responsible for overseeing liquidity, counterparty and settlement risks related to clearing and settling of securities transactions and corporate actions processing. During her tenure, Tamara served as brokerage administrator, portfolio assistant, trader, senior securities trader, assistant portfolio manager and assistant vice president of Brokerage and Trading. Tamara is a Certified Financial Planner professional and Series 7 qualified. She received her educational training at the Benedictine University College (Nassau Campus) and the College of the Bahamas (UB) with a concentration in Banking and Finance.

Ms. Dionne Comery

Ms. Dionne Comery joined CFAL in May 2017 as Pension Manager bringing with her over 25 years of financial services experience. Currently, Ms.Comery is responsible for the day to day operations for pension administration. Ms.Comery has extensive experience in Mutual Fund Administration previously having oversight responsibility of Fund Accounting, Investor Relations and Cash Management. Ms.Comery is a former Senior Manager in one of the "Big Four" Global Accounting Firms and has held several senior positions in the financial services industry sector. She earned her MBA at the University of Miami and her BSc (Honors) at Winston-Salem State University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Ms.Comery is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and currently serves as an Executive Council Member of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Ms. Lashell P. White

Ms. Lashell P. White, CFA joined CFAL in October 2018 as an Investment Manager. As a member of the CFAL Investments team, Lashell oversees the management of discretionary and advisory portfolios. In her role, Lashell reviews clients' stated investment profiles and constructs and manages suitable investment portfolios that will meet their short and long-term goals and objectives. She also serves as a member of CFAL's Investment Committee. Lashell has over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry and holds a BBA in Economics and Finance from the University of the Bahamas. She received her Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2009 and has previously served on the board of the CFA Society of The Bahamas of which she remains an active member.

Pamela Musgrove

Pamela Musgrove joined CFAL in November 1998, and has assumed numerous roles in the investment department culminating in her current position as Vice President of Investments. In this capacity, she oversees the company's investment management functions including discretionary portfolio management, CFAL's mutual funds and portfolio analysis. The Investments division provides securities settlements, local and international securities execution and trading, securities research, portfolio management and prime brokerage services. Ms. Musgrove also serves as a member of CFAL's Investment Committee, which is comprised of a team of investment professionals responsible for making key investment strategy and policy decisions. Ms. Musgrove began her career in the financial services industry at a leading offshore bank, where she garnered the fundamentals in securities administration and execution. Following her stint at the bank, Ms. Musgrove moved to CFAL where she has been since. Ms. Musgrove earned her Associates Degree in Business Administration at the College of the Bahamas (currently the University of The Bahamas) and a Bachelor of Business Administration, with Honours, and a concentration in finance, from Acadia University, Nova Scotia, Canada in June 1996. She earned her Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) designation in 2006. Ms. Musgrove in July 2010 also participated in an Executive Education course titled Investment Management Workshop at Harvard University and in conjunction with the CFA Institute. Her professional affiliations include memberships in the CFA Society The Bahamas and the CFA Institute. Ms. Musgrove also co-hosts a local morning show, which discuss current economic and social issues.

Tiffany Smith

Tiffany Smith, CFAL's Investment Manager, joined the company in November 2008. She has over 8 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry. Past positions at CFAL include Portfolio Assistant and Securities Administrator. As Investment Manager, Ms. Smith is responsible for the management of CFAL's discretionary accounts including mutual funds, pension plans, companies, and individuals. She also serves as a member of CFAL's investment committee. Ms. Smith is a graduate of Temple University's Fox School of Business (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) where she obtained a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance Summa cum Laude. She obtained her Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation in August 2015 and the Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM®) credential in November 2018. Ms. Smith is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of the Bahamas.
