Byron Chapman combined his experience and education from the armed forces and a mechanical engineering degree to create Chapman Engineering in 1979. Like many family owned and operated businesses, a son came up through the ranks with the desire to take over the family business and the future direction of Chapman Heating and Cooling.

Judd Martin, our Sales Manager, is another invaluable component to our team. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, with a degree in business management and marketing. Judd oversees the residential side of the company, including estimates, installations, new construction, and remodels. He does a wonderful job of listening to the customer, understanding their needs, and offering suitable options to accommodate the client.

Wil Chapman started working with his father's HVAC company at the young age of 13. Eager and driven, Wil sought after the necessary education to give himself a leg up in this business. Before the age of 21 he had already obtained his journeyman and master license. Not long after that he added a degree in mechanical engineering and drafting from the University of Louisville Tech to his resume.
In 2000 Byron Chapman learned that his brother was dying of a brain tumor and left immediately to be by his brother's side. Unknown when Byron would return, this was Wil's sink or swim moment. Wil had no other option but to take over the reins that day and has been running with them full force ever since. In 2005, Wil added the "Chapman Heating and Cooling" name so customers could have a better understanding of the services we provide.
He also made great strides to diversify the company between commercial and residential work. From growing up in the industry to becoming a field employee and now running the company, Wil Chapman has a great understanding of every aspect of the business.
