Wei Lung has handled significant legal transactions in capital markets, corporate banking, corporate finance, corporate and debt restructuring schemes, initial public offers, take-overs, reverse take-overs, back-door listings, mergers and acquisitions, real property, retail lending and generally, in various areas of commercial and corporate law as well as finance and property law. He also advises on employment and industrial relations laws. His expertise is recognised in several independent international publications. He has presented many public lectures on various areas of law and legal practice, and writes for various legal publishers and the College of Law of Australia. He is an adjunct lecturer of the College of Law's Master of Laws programs, as well as a lecturer and tutor of the Veritas University College of Malaysia's Master of Arts in Law and Master of Corporate Law and Governance. In addition to his legal work, he administers several aspects of the firm's practice. He also regularly acts a mentor to the young lawyers and pupils of the Firm. Wei Lung has been recognised as a Leading Lawyer in the field of Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions by Asialaw. Wei Lung graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia in 1988 with an Honours degree in Law. He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1988 after the completion of his practical training at the College of Law in Sydney, Australia. Wei Lung was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1989. Since then, he has been in active and continuous legal practice, commencing with litigation work for a decade. He joined Cheang & Ariff as a Partner since 2000.

Leong Li Sze

Li Sze's areas of practice include equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and foreign investments. She also advises on regulatory compliance as well as general corporate advisory matters. She has advised on corporate finance and equity capital markets transactions such as initial public offerings, rights issues and private placements. She has acted for private equity funds, public listed and private companies across various industries on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. She has also worked with start-up companies and venture capital firms on early stage financing. Li Sze graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom in 2010. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2011 and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2014.

Siew Cheang

Siew Cheang has appeared and continues to appear as counsel in many complex and high-profile business and corporate disputes. He was one of the counsel who appeared before the Constitutional Tribunal established in 1998 to inquire into the alleged judicial misconduct of five Malaysian Supreme Court Judges. He was also a member of the Companies Law Reform Committee of Malaysia. Numerous independent legal publications have consistently listed him as a leading individual in dispute resolution and corporate/M&A. He has been ranked as a Market-Leading Lawyer by Asialaw Leading Lawyers since 2014 for dispute resolution and as a Distinguished Practitioner in the Asialaw Profiles and Leading Lawyers 2022 edition. The Chambers Asia - Asia's Leading Lawyers for Business 2009 edition described him as "a standout" and "a formidable advocate who presents incredible robust arguments". He is also named as a Dispute Resolution Star in Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2019. Siew Cheang is a graduate from the University of Malaya. He was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1978.

Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff

Tan Sri Ariff started his career in 1974 as a law lecturer and subsequently an Associate Professor of the Law Faculty of the University of Malaya before venturing into legal practice as an advocate and solicitor in 1986. He is one of the founding partners of Cheang & Ariff. In 1993 to 1995, he took leave from legal practice to join the then newly formed Securities Commission of Malaysia and became the first Director of its Market Supervision Department. In September 2008, he was appointed as a Judicial Commissioner of the High Court of Malaya and later a Judge of the High Court of Malaya in October 2009. In September 2012, he became a Judge of the Court of Appeal. He returned to Cheang & Ariff as a Consultant after his retirement as a Court of Appeal Judge in early 2015. Between July 2018 and July 2020, Tan Sri Ariff was elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Parliament of Malaysia. He has since re-joined the firm as a consultant. Between July 2018 and July 2020, Tan Sri Ariff was elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Parliament of Malaysia. He has since re-joined the firm as a consultant. ​ Tan Sri Ariff sits on the panel of arbitrators of the Asian International Arbitration Centre and is currently an Adjunct Professor in the School of Law, University Utara Malaysia (Northern University of Malaysia).
