What would people be surprised to know about you? My happy place is at the ocean; my passion is to swim! You can find me in water as often as it is possible. I even participate in an annual ocean dip in January!

Bee Jay Gallant - Treasurer

Bee Jay joined Charter Oak in 2012. Her main role is keeper of the firm's digital records and management of its imaging database, but her many talents are widespread and she may be found in a variety of capacities whenever the need arises. She is a fully integrated member of the Charter Oak team, creating a sense of trust, value and accountability. Bee Jay has over 50 years of office administration experience, having worked for many prominent business and law firms in the New Hampshire seacoast community. Bee Jay lives in Portsmouth, NH and is a rabid New England Patriots fan. James joined Charter Oak Capital Management in 2022, after spending more than a decade working for Vanguard, one of the largest asset managers in the world.

Cathy Towle

Cathy joined Charter Oak Capital Management in July 2010. Cathy previously worked in banking management and served as a commercial account development manager with Ford Motor Credit Company. As Client Service Manager, Cathy works closely with the service team. She is responsible for handling all necessary documentation to establish new client relationships, providing service to existing clients and supporting the firm's advisors. Cathy is a former board member of the Dover Soccer Association and enjoys watching her children in their many school sporting events. She lives in Dover, NH with her husband, Jon, their children, Joe and Lindsay, and their beloved rescue dog, Bama.

Christine Cote

Christine joined Charter Oak Capital Management in Summer 2003 and is responsible for the administrative management of firm's three offices. Widely known for her good nature and charm, Christine is the first and very best person to help connect clients with resources at the firm. She is the primary person who schedules initial appointments, portfolio reviews and telephone calls for clients. Christine is a native of Maine and has two adult children, Ashley and Alissa. She lives in Sanford, Maine with her husband, Jack.

Emma Bean

Emma joined Charter Oak Capital Management in the Fall of 2015. She began her wealth management career at Morgan Stanley, where she specialized in comprehensive financial planning. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Emma works closely with clients and their families to identify goals, evaluate available resources and develop a personalized financial plan. Using an attentive ear to identify what is most important to clients, Emma then crafts a personalized roadmap and uses a unique process to implement and monitor their plan. Emma is a member of the firm's Professional Development Committee and is Chair of the Financial Planning Subcommittee. A native of southern Maine, Emma lives in Wells with her husband, Chris, and their children, Jackson, and Julia. Together they enjoy getting outdoors, hiking, biking, and spending the summer weekends at the lake. What would people be surprised to know about you? I lived in Spain for 5 months, traveled all through Europe and was fluent in Spanish. I haven't spoken Spanish in many years, but I am hopeful it will come back to me if I ever need it someday.

Eugene Akerberg

Gene joined Charter Capital Management in 2003 and has been serving the investment and taxation needs of his clients, which include individuals and their families, since 1976. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1978 and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ since 1994, Gene is a longstanding member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Planning Association. He spends many hours each year keeping up with the latest tax pronouncements and tax court decisions. What would people be surprised to know about you? As a freshman at Penn State, I played 1st base on the extension campus baseball team.

Jeffrey Troiano

Jeff started in the wealth management business in 1992 and founded Charter Oak Capital Management in 2002. In addition to working with clients and managing the strategic growth of the firm, Jeff is also a member of the firm's Professional Development Committee and chairs its Investment Subcommittee. What would people be surprised to know about you? I love music, and have played percussion since grade school and still continue to play drums in local groups/bands; jazz, blues, rock.

Jessica Kreger

Jessica joined Charter Oak Capital Management in the Fall of 2020. She began her career in wealth management in 2005, starting as an intern at Sensible Financial Planning and Management in Cambridge, MA. She has more than 12 years of experience in wealth management, having held a range of roles at three different Registered Investment Advisor firms. Her last position was as a Financial Advisor at Robinson Smith Wealth Advisors where she worked with a diverse group of clients, helping them with their most important financial goals. Jessica enjoys building relationships with her clients, learning not only about their financial goals, but also understanding their concerns. This approach helps her as she works with her clients to develop a financial plan that allows them to live and enjoy life without a lot of financial worry. She is a member of the firm's Professional Development Committee and its Investment Subcommittee. Jessica is a native of Scarborough, Maine and settled with her family in Eliot, Maine after living in the Boston area for ten years. She and her husband, Matt, have two young children, Hudson and Gracelynn, and two dogs. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys playing golf, going to the beach, hiking, do-it-yourself projects around the house, and indulging in all the delicious seafood Maine has to offer. What would people be surprised to know about you? I have traveled to many places around the world including Japan, Israel, and Europe. I'm very content staying at home, but I also love exploring new places, trying new foods, and learning about different cultures.

John Wilson

John joined Charter Oak Capital Management in March 2024. He has completed the education and examination for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and will satisfy the experience requirement under the guidance of the Financial Advisors at Charter Oak Capital Management. John was drawn to Charter Oak due to its fiduciary focus and the high level of care being delivered by each member of the Charter Oak team. He aims to guide clients to their retirement while helping them navigate transitions and life events to live their best lives. John lives in Portsmouth with his wife, Marie, and their adopted cat, Doodle. He enjoys participating in local sports, including cycling, running, and pond hockey at Strawbery Banke during the winter. What would people be surprised to know about you? I enjoy playing Pickleball with friends. This has surprised a few of the Charter Oak team members, who were under the impression that I was "too young" to be playing the nation's fastest-growing sport.

Julie Whitehouse

Julie joined Charter Oak Capital Management as Support Specialist in July of 2023. Julie has many dedicated years of experience working in insurance, start-ups, and retail cultures for companies such as Liberty Mutual Insurance, MURAL, and Staples, Inc. Using her project management, strategic planning, and communications background, Julie is responsible for supporting the firm's Client and Advisor needs, compliance program and operational initiatives. She mainly works out of the Portsmouth, New Hampshire office. Originally from Canada, Julie was raised in New Hampshire and received her Bachelor of Science from Boston University. Julie resides in New Castle, New Hampshire with her husband Mark, two daughters, Stella and Lydia, and their yellow Labrador, Lola. She supports her children's passions for theater, cooking, swimming, softball, basketball, and all things ocean related.

Karen Zaramba

Karen joined Charter Oak Capital Management in the Spring of 2011. Before then, Karen worked in wealth management at A.G. Edwards and in international asset management and capital markets at Prudential Insurance Company of America. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®, Karen helps her clients assess their current financial health and then develops a realistic, comprehensive plan to help them meet their goals by identifying opportunities and building on strengths. Together, Karen and her clients monitor progress and make adjustments when needed. Karen is a member of the firm's Professional Development Committee and its Investment Subcommittee. Karen is active and invested in the community as a Board Member of the Pope Memorial Humane Society Cocheco Valley. Karen lives in Eliot, Maine and enjoys core strength training and road races to support area charitable organizations. What would people be surprised to know about you? I have driven a Formula race car on the storied track at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, CT.

Edwards in Portsmouth, NH and in 2013 became a Vice President, Financial Advisor at York Investment Partners. A seasoned financial services professional, Katy helps clients identify their goals and manage their investments through market conditions. Katy is a member of the firm's Professional Development Committee and its Behavioral Finance Subcommittee. Katy is active in the community, volunteering her time with End 68 Hours of Hunger, Make a Wish of Maine, as well as York's elementary schools and youth programs. In her spare time, Katy enjoys watching her children play ice hockey, summer days at the beach, travel and boating off the coast of Maine. Originally from South Freeport, Maine, Katy lives in York Harbor, Maine, with her husband, Jason and their three children, Jillian, Bradley and Ryan and their black Labrador retriever, Rudder. Lena Wyand

Michelle Webber

Previously, Michelle worked as an underwriter at Standard Insurance and Customer Service Assistant Manager at Kennebunk Savings Bank. Michelle was born and raised in York, Maine, where she returned after attending college in Southern California. Her expertise in strategic workplace design and talent management has driven organizational success and innovation, making her a key addition to the Charter Oak leadership team. As the Director of Client Operations, Morgan is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of Charter Oak's operations. Her role ensures seamless coordination between departments and the implementation of best practices to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction. Morgan is passionate about creating dynamic work environments that not only meet the current needs of businesses but also lead them confidently into the future. In addition to her professional achievements, Morgan is a co-founder of the Kita Center, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preventing suicide by building intentional environments that foster connections and engage individuals in lifelong mental wellness. The Kita Center, born from the pioneering efforts of the Mosher siblings, has evolved from a summer camp for children grieving a loved one's suicide into a broad-reaching initiative offering support, education, and community for those affected by suicide and suicide risk. Morgan lives in Newmarket with her partner, Colin, their two children, and a variety of animals. They enjoy the balance of community engagement and the tranquility of their home life.

Samuel Reid

After I graduated from the University of New Hampshire I worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, CT writing COBOL computer programs. The young advisers find that very funny as they claim I am technologically challenged.

She is a New England native who returned to the seacoast area of New Hampshire after attending college in San Francisco, California. In her free time she enjoys reading contemporary fiction, baking elaborate pies, and hunting for vinyl records and vintage furniture. She lives in Stratham, NH with her cats Rabbit and Possum.

Todd Cesca

Todd joined Charter Oak Capital Management in 2002, after beginning his wealth management career at Morgan Stanley & Company. Todd loves to hear about people's stories, what's important to them, and where they're headed. He believes that everyone's path is unique. Working with others really allows him to do his best for clients. Whether it's with other advisors within the firm or attorneys and accountants with specialties outside the firm, his job is to bring it all together for clients to ensure they get good advice to help them accomplish what's important to them. Todd is a member of the firm's Professional Development Committee and chairs its Behavioral Finance Subcommittee. Ever passionate for investing in his community, Todd serves as Vice Chair of the Board of the United Way of Southern Maine, the Kennebunk Lacrosse Club, and is a volunteer boys' varsity lacrosse coach at Kennebunk High School. Todd is a trustee and investment committee member for various endowments in Maine. Todd resides in Kennebunk, Maine with his wife, Megan, and their two dogs, Stella and Oliver. Virginia Skevington

Virginia joined Charter Oak as Operations Manager in June of 2017. Supporting Charter Oak's leadership team, Virginia provides operational and technical support to the partners in Charter Oak's three locations, manages the firm's professional staff, and assists in the day-to-day operations and long-term execution of the firm's strategic goals. Virginia brings diverse experience from the nonprofit, private and government sectors. Previously, Virginia ran two arts nonprofit agencies on the Seacoast. A native Washingtonian, prior to moving to New Hampshire's Seacoast, worked for several years as a federal lobbyist. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Virginia Tech and her Master of Political Science from Hollins University, Virginia. Virginia serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Arts in Reach (AIR). She resides in Newfields, New Hampshire with her husband, John, and their six-year old son, Britton, and four-year-old daughter, Charlotte.
