CIB

CIB is a building contractors association founded in 1955 to represent management in matters of construction labor relations, which still is a primary focus. CIB became a local chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America a year later, authorized to represent contractors in a 46-county area of central Illinois. Today there are 89 nationwide chapters affiliated with AGC... In addition to labor relations, CIB is involved with legislation before the Illinois General Assembly, safety programs, construction industry education, public agency liaison, and interaction with design professionals. CIB sponsors workers compensation and other vital programs for members... The chapter staff administer the policy and direction determined by the board and executive committee. The chapter office is located in Springfield a block away from the state capitol building. CIB is represented at the national AGC by one national director.
