Charles G. Haskins Jr.

Charles G Haskins Jr. is a graduate of the University of Illinois and received his Juris Doctorate, with distinction, from John Marshall Law School in January 1976. His practice is concentrated in Workers' Compensation, handling cases from trial through the Illinois Supreme Court. He is former Chairman of the Industrial Commission Section of the Chicago Bar Association and Past President of the Illinois Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association. A frequent lecturer on Workers' Compensation, Mr. Haskins currently serves on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and was Chair of its Workers' Compensation Committee from 1994 to 2010. Mr. Haskins is Editor of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association's Workers' Compensation Book. He is former Secretary of and serves on the Board of Directors of the Workers' Injury and Law Advocacy Group, a national organization of attorneys representing injury workers. In 2011 he was elected to the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers. David Guerra

David Guerra is a graduate of Bradley University with a Bachelor's Degree in political science, which included a semester studying in Washington, D.C. and interning with Congresswoman Cheri Bustos. He received his Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law along with a J.D. Certificate in Labor and Employment Law. At Chicago-Kent, David was a member of the Executive Board of the Chicago-Kent Law Review as well as a published author. He was also a Student Editor on the Employee Rights and Employment Policy Journal and active in many other student organizations. David X. Kosin

Over the past three decades David has earned his reputation successfully fighting for seriously injured individuals before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission, Circuit Court and the Illinois Appellate Court and has successfully concluded thousands of cases, whether through trial or settlement. David's father started Kosin Law Office, Ltd. in 1985 and David has continued to work in the same firm after his graduation from IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1987 where he was a member of Moot Court and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional Law. Besides being a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Chicago Bar Association, Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association and the Illinois State Bar Association, David has a keen interest in vintage automobiles and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Jose M. Rivero

Jose M. Rivero is a graduate of Indiana University and received his Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. While in law school he worked as a law clerk with the Indiana Migrant Farmworker Project and upon graduation was hired as Project Director. There, he handled cases involving migrant farm workers throughout the State of Indiana primarily in the areas of labor and employment, including workers' compensation. He has also worked in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the Movimiento Ecuménico por los Derechos Humanos, where he worked on human rights issues related to undocumented workers entering Argentina from neighboring South American countries. Since then, he has concentrated his practice in Workers' Compensation, representing injured workers throughout the State of Illinois. He is a native Spanish speaker and has been admitted to practice in both Illinois and Indiana. He has lectured on the topic representing immigrant workers for the Association of American Trial Lawyers and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois, The Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association of Illinois, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, The Workers Injury Law & Advocacy Group, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He serves on the Board of Directors and as co-chair of the Workers' Compensation Committee of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, as well as the board for the Farmworker Advocacy Project. Marilyn I. Kosin

Marilyn graduated from Grinnell College in Iowa as an Honors History major. She stayed in Iowa and graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa Law School in two years. Marilyn's writing skills allowed her to get her first job as a legal writing instructor at IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law. She then worked as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago's Torts Division where she represented the City in complex personal injury cases. Marilyn then worked for business litigation firms and taught a legal writing class at DePaul University College of Law. In 1993, Marilyn joined Robert and David Kosin at Kosin Law where she concentrated on representing individuals injured at work and ran the firm's personal injury and appellate departments. Marilyn is an Arbitrator for the Cook County Municipal Mandatory Arbitration Program. She is also a member of the Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association and Illinois State Bar Association.

Michael A. Rom

Michael A. Rom is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago with a double major in History and Political Science which included a semester at the John Felice Rome Center in Rome, Italy. He received his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law. At DePaul he was a member of the Moot Court Society and was chosen to represent the school at two prestigious competitions in 1992 (Duke University) and 1993 (SUNY-Albany School of Law). For the past 23 years his practice has concentrated in Workers' Compensation, representing injured workers throughout the State of Illinois. He has litigated hundreds of claims before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission. In addition, he has argued numerous cases before the Illinois Appellate Court. Mike Rolenc

is a seasoned workers' compensation attorney with a wealth of experience representing both injured workers and employers. He has handled cases at all levels of proceedings since 1979. Mike began his career as an in house attorney with several large and well know insurance carriers, handling the defense of cases at what was then known as the Illinois Industrial Commission. He then worked for several private firms handling cases for both petitioners and respondents. His most recent employment prior to joining us was with a firm which exclusively represented injured workers before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission. Mike is a graduate of DePaul University and received his legal education at the Northern Illinois University College of Law. He joined our firm in December of 2020. We are happy to have him.

Mr. Nicholson is former Chairman of the Workers' Compensation Committee of the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, former chairman of the Industrial Commission Committee of the Chicago Bar Association, and is a former member of the Illinois State Bar Association Workers' Compensation Council. He is a current member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association, Workplace Injury Litigation Group, and American Association for Justice. He has lectured at seminars on workers' compensation for the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He has authored the chapter on "Total Permanent Disability" for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Workers' Compensation Trial Notebook. He has been selected for ten consecutive years as an Illinois Super Lawyer in the field of workers' compensation. He has been selected by the Best Lawyers in America in the practice of workers' compensation was named Lawyer of the Year for workers' compensation law-claimants-Chicago in 2013. He has also been awarded an AV Peer Review Rating by Lexis-Nexis Martindale Hubbel.

Andy is a graduate of the University of Illinois where he received Bachelor of Arts Diploma with honors. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Northern Illinois University School of Law in 1979. Andy's legal career began as a law clerk and then as an in house attorney for an insurance carrier where he defended workers' compensation claims. In 1981 Andy was a founding member of Baum, Ruffolo & Marzal, Ltd. which concentrated its practice representing injured workers in the metropolitan Chicago area and its collar counties. He also represent claimants seeking Social Security disability.
