One example of my work in the defense industry is the fiber monitoring system I sold this past year into the National Security Shield for the Qatar Ministry of Interior and Armed Forces. The fiber monitoring product is a combination of Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) sensors that are integrated into hardware devices and managed by a software platform (SaaS or server based). By incorporating power monitors into the fiber path, the additional data and analytics allows military and government customers to use this solution for network security. Fiber optics and the equipment associated with them must be highly available and highly secure for this customer set. I have been successful selling products and services into many branches of the DoD and intelligence community as well as to many governments in Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
