CIM is used primarily in the management of computers and networks in the enterprise environment, and is increasingly being used in the management of other kinds of computer-related networks such as Storage Area Networks (SAN)s and telecommunications networks... This website is an independent effort that grew out of my personal interest in CIM/WBEM technologies. I read about, and began to understand how powerful these technologies can be for the modeling and development of interoperable sytems. Hungry for more information, I dug around on the Internet and found that CIM is being used (or contemplated for use) to manage satellite systems, power distribution, network management (telecom, enterprise, storage), business modeling, etc.
