Andy was appointed to the CapRescue Board in August 2022, and brings significant experience in facilitating and operationalising change, strong financial skills, and extensive experience in governance at both corporate and government level to his role as Director. Andy has worked in many places throughout Queensland and NSW during his lengthy local government career, but having grown up in Central Queensland he has always regarded it as home. He returned home to Yeppoon in 2016 where he lives with wife and family. With a strong community service ethic, Andy is delighted to have been appointed to the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Board.

Caitlin Buttenshaw

Witnessing the joy that RACQ CapRescue events bring to the community is what inspires Caitlin to plan, coordinate and promote multiple fundraising events throughout the year. Caitlin helps coordinate the RACQ CapRescue volunteer program, where she produces the volunteer newsletter and communicates with volunteers to organise events and arrange activities.

Darren Pirie

Darren has a career in Queensland Ambulance Service spanning over 30 years and currently serves as District Director QAS Central Queensland. He brings to the board a vast aeromedical experience over an entire career as a Critical Care Paramedic/Flight Paramedic, after working on multiple aircrafts with several service providers including CapRescue. Providing such a high standard of healthcare to Central Queensland communities has always been a proud aspect to Darren's career.

Justin Houlihan

Justin has been a dedicated member of the RACQ CapRescue board since 2007. He brings 40 years of legal, business and administrative expertise from his career at Rees R & Sydney Jones, where he was partner/solicitor. As a long-time local, he understands the necessity of RACQ CapRescue's dedicated team and the legacy of safety offered to the community. It's this understanding that motivates Justin to continue serving the people of Central QLD.

With considerable knowledge and background in the aviation and aeromedical industry, Lauren's input will be vital in assisting the future growth of CapRescue and continuing a commitment to the service's high standards. Lauren has worked alongside CapRescue in the past in other professional roles and Central Queensland has been a destination for both work and pleasure. Meaning she knows the importance of the service to the community.

Mark Fewtrell

Having spent over 25 years in the finance industry, specialising in commercial/business and corporate management, Mark was keen to put his expertise at the service of his community and to help save lives. He oversees the complete operation of RACQ CapRescue. This includes corporate governance, liaising with local government and the management of helicopter suppliers, large sponsorship relationships and Queensland Health contracts. Mark arranged and provided the finance for RACQ CapRescue to purchase their first aircraft, a decision that led to him becoming an active and passionate board member in March 2002.

Tanya brings over 30 years of management experience from the Rockhampton banking industry to her role at RACQ CapRescue and is responsible for all fiscal data collection, entry, reporting and exporting. Working for such a vital service brings Tanya a strong sense of fulfillment and this is evidenced by her commitment to a portfolio that includes management of repairs and maintenance at the RACQ CapRescue office and hangar, and WH&S management for all office staff.
