Aleš Michl

Aleš Michl was born in Prague on 18 October 1977. He obtained a Ph.D. in finance at the University of Economics in Prague in 2020. He graduated from the University of Economics with an MSc (Ing.) degree in 2002. He completed a training programme on game theory and the psychology of decision-making at the Summer School at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2005 and took an investment portfolio management course at the Wharton School in Philadelphia in 2009. He started his professional career as an economic journalist during his studies and later as an economic adviser to Deputy Prime Minister for the Economy Martin Jahn. He worked as an economic and investment strategist at Raiffeisenbank in 2006-2015. In 2014-2018, he was an external economic adviser to the Czech Ministry of Finance and later the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, specialising in macroeconomic analysis and government debt stabilisation. He founded Michl Fund Management s.r.o. in 2016, which subsequently co-founded Robot Asset Management SICAV a.s., which carries on the activities of an investment fund for qualified investors with the Quant sub-fund. He terminated these activities on the date of commencement of his position in the CNB Board. Mr Michl is the author of numerous columns and articles in newspapers, journals and magazines. He also wrote the books MICHLiq - průvodce eckonomií a investicemi (MICHLiq - a guide to economics and investment), Jestřábi a holubice (Hawks and Doves) and Reset ekonomiky (How to Reset the Economy). He is not and has never been a member of a political party. Aleš Michl was appointed a member of the CNB Bank Board on 1 December 2018. The President appointed him CNB Governor for a term of six years with effect from 1 July 2022.

Eva Zamrazilová

Eva Zamrazilová was born on 8 May 1961 in Prague. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague, where she later lectured on statistical theory and economic statistics. She then worked as a researcher at the Forecasting Institute of the University of Economics in Prague, at the Economic Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences and at the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs. In 1990 she completed her postgraduate studies at the Statistics Department of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics. In the 1990s she co-authored numerous papers on the transformation of the Czech economy and went on a number of short-term research stays in other countries. In 1994-2008 she was involved in the preparation of macroeconomic analyses and forecasts in the Team of the Chief Economist at Komerční banka. In 2008 she became a member of the CNB Bank Board. After her mandate expired in 2014, she worked as the Chief Economist of the Czech Banking Association. In 2017 the Chamber of Deputies appointed her as Chairperson of the Czech Fiscal Council at the government's proposal. In 2022 she joined the advisory team for the preparation of the pension reform established by the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. She has a long publication record in Czech and international journals, specialising in macroeconomic equilibrium, the convergence process in transition economies, economic policy, the labour market and budget responsibility. She also gives presentations at conferences. She became a member of the CNB Bank Board on 1 July 2022 and has also served as CNB Deputy Governor since this date.

Jan Kubíček

Jan Kubíček was born on 14 September 1976 in Dvůr Králové nad Labem. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague, where he went on to study economic policy and administration at postgraduate level. He began his career as an analyst at Newton Holding. In 2007-2013, he worked as an adviser to CNB Deputy Governor Vladimír Tomšík. From 2018 to 2019, he was the head of the macroeconomic and fiscal analysis section of the Office of the Czech Fiscal Council. From 2022 to 2023, he worked as the Head of the Office of the Czech Fiscal Council. Since completing his studies, he has also lectured in macroeconomic analysis, long-term growth theory, business cycle theory and other subjects at economic universities (University of Economics in Prague, Newton College, Škoda Auto University). He currently lectures at the Public Finance Department of the University of Economics in Prague. Jan Kubíček speaks English and French, as well as basic Italian and German. He became a member of the CNB Bank Board on 13 February 2023.

Jan Procházka

Jan Procházka was born on 1 February 1979 in Ostrava. He graduated from the Faculty of Science of Palacký University in Olomouc and completed his economic education at the Faculty of Business and Economics of Mendel University in Brno. He worked in the CYRRUS financial group for ten years, among other things as chief analyst and director of the Prague branch. From 2012 to 2023 he worked as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation, where he was responsible for the support and diversification of Czech exports as well as the implementation of Solvency II and representation in international institutions. From 2012 to 2023 he chaired the Supervisory Board of the Budvar national brewery. He was also a member of a working group of the government's Legislative Council, the RIA Commission and was twice a member of the National Economic Council, where he headed a group for KPIs in public administration. Jan Procházka speaks English and basic Spanish. He became a member of the CNB Bank Board on 13 February 2023.

Karina Kubelková

Karina Kubelková received her master's degree and doctorate in economic policy at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Economics in Prague, where she has been lecturing since 2009. She obtained an MBA from Université Jean Moulin Lyon III in France. She has participated in study, research and lecturing programmes at prestigious universities and institutions in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Finland, India, Russia and China. She is a member of the Accreditation Commission of the Czech Association of MBA Schools (CAMBAS). She worked as an economic analyst at the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and the Office of the President. She specialises in data analysis, applied economic policy, macroeconomics and forecasting. In 2018-2022 she was a member of the Committee on Budgetary Forecasts. Before joining the Bank Board, she worked as chief analyst and head of the analysis unit at the Czech Chamber of Commerce and as an adviser on economic issues to Prime Minister Petr Fiala. She became a member of the Bank Board of the Czech National Bank on 1 July 2022.
