Dr. Becky Whittle

Dr. Whittle was born and raised in Calgary. She graduated from the University of Calgary in 2009,earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with distinction, and a Business minor in Management and Society. During that time she also participated in a primatology field research project in Ghana, West Africa. Becky went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, graduating in 2013 with distinction. After graduation she moved back to Calgary, where she gained valuable experience over the next 3 years practicing at a twenty-four hour small animal emergency clinic. She joined the Cochrane Animal Clinic in September 2016 and is excited to foster relationships with clients and their furry friends. While she enjoys all aspects of health care she has a particular interest in Dentistry, Surgery, and Internal Medicine. Becky has a very spoiled Shih Tzu named Stanley. During her spare time she enjoys getting out to the mountains as often as possible to go skiing and hiking. She also plays recreational floor

Dr. Laura Armstrong

Laura graduated from the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2018, prior to this she completed a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in biology at the University of Victoria, graduating in 2014. Born and raised in Calgary, Laura decided she wanted to become a veterinarian at a very young age. She enjoys working with animals of all varieties and particularly enjoys cats, dogs, small ruminants, horses, and cattle. Laura resides in Cochrane and when not at work she enjoys cooking, playing on her recreational soccer and soft ball teams, heading to the mountains to ski or hike, and of course spending time with her mischievous one eyed cat named ‘Uno'.

Dr. Ryan Wennekamp

Dr. Ryan Wennekamp grew up in Lloydminster, AB, the oldest of four children on a cow/calf operation. He completed his Agriculture degree at the University of Alberta in 1996, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. He moved to Cochrane in 2006 with his wife Jillian and their two dogs to do mixed animal veterinary medicine at the Cochrane Animal Clinic. Over time his practice emphasis has shifted primarily to cattle and horses. Outside of work Ryan spends his time chasing after his children Addison and Barrett and pursuing outdoor activities like skiing and mountain biking.

Dr. Tegan Olesen

Born & raised in Kamloops, BC, Dr. Tegan Olesen obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology with distinction at the University of Victoria prior to moving to Calgary. She became a member of the first graduating class in the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Dr. Olesen practiced in emergency medicine, primary care and in-home palliative care for 5 years prior to joining Cochrane Animal Clinic in 2018. She enjoys taking time to sit down and get to know you & your pet, and has particular interest in elective surgery, pain management, dentistry & oral care, as well as palliative care for aging pets. When not in-clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, frequenting the mountains and partaking in skiing, snowboarding, & river surfing.
