Brian Dazé

As Senior Vice President, Foodbuy Canada, Brian Dazé leads the teams responsible for Procurement, Data Operations, and Business Needs, as well as the Procurement Services Group. Since Joining Compass Group Canada in September 2019 as VP, Operations Foodbuy, Brian has developed a strategic focus on growth, and a strong tactical roadmap for success. By leveraging his diverse experience and building rapport with internal and external stakeholders, Brian continues to drive improvements for the business. His strong belief in collaboration is an essential element in supporting the success of his team and the business. Prior to joining Compass Group Canada, Brian was the Senior Vice President, Business Development for Sodexo Canada. He was the executive committee member responsible for leading sales & marketing, business development, and client relations for all industry segments in the Canadian market, as well as P3 Consortium efforts. Before heading up Business Development, he was Vice President of Entegra Canada, Leading Sodexo's procurement services company, which realized extreme growth during his tenure. Before joining Sodexo, Brian spent sixteen years leading business units with the Jim Pattison Group - where he held several roles within the organization as part of The News Group senior executive team, most recently as Vice President of Business Development for Canada. Brian has recently settled in Downtown Toronto and is embracing the urban lifestyle and all that the city has to offer.

David Smith

David was appointed President of Chartwells in 2021. Prior to leading Chartwells, he served as the President of Eurest for four years. He has been with Compass Group for over 20 years in senior operation Vice President roles in both the Business & Industry and Education Sectors. David has focused on developing strong managers and future leaders in our business. As a people-focused leader, David has touched many of our Compass businesses coast to coast over the years. David believes in strong relationships with our clients and in creating a great guest experience. He has successfully overseen many large and complex transitions. Prior to Compass Group, David worked for 13 years in various positions with Marriott Management Services. David is a University of Guelph, Honours Bachelor of Commerce graduate in Hotel and Food Administration.

Ian Baskerville is Senior Vice President and General Counsel with Compass Group Canada, a role he was appointed to in 2012. Prior to joining Compass Group Canada, Ian was General Counsel, Vice President Human Resources and Corporate Secretary with The Second Cup Ltd, a role he held from 2006 to 2012 where he led domestic and international legal affairs. Ian specialized in mergers and acquisitions as a lawyer within the corporate/commercial department at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP from 2000-2003. Ian moved into foodservice when he joined Cara Operations Limited in 2003 as Legal Counsel, a role he held until 2006 before joining The Second Cup Ltd. His breadth of experience includes corporate governance, securities law, litigation management, intellectual property, commercial leasing, marketing and employment law. Ian is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. He received his law degree (LLB) from the University of Western Ontario and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria.

Jacques Webster

As president of Eurest and ESFM, Jacques leads a team which provides dining and facilities management services to business, industry and public sector clients. Jacques joined Compass in 2006 and has held a number of roles in both operations and support departments, including Regional Vice President of Operations for ESS and Vice President of Offer Development with the Envision Group. Prior to joining Compass, Jacques held roles with Sodexo and Marriott International managing various foodservice portfolios in the Education and B&I sectors. Throughout his thirty-year career in the foodservice industry, Jacques has led the implementation of transformational change for clients across Canada. He has focused on building high-performance teams, combining diverse personalities and backgrounds through mutual respect of differences. Jacques is a founding member of Compass Group's PRIDE ALLIANCE diversity and inclusion committee. Jacques holds a degree in History from Carleton University and explores his passion for Medieval life by visiting castles and cathedrals. He lives in Stratford, Ontario with his partner.

Jeff Bell

Jeff has over 35 years of hospitality, operational and customer service experience, with a focus on the sports & attractions industry. Many professional sporting venues and top tier attractions across Canada fall under Jeff's leadership. After studying Hospitality Business at Ryerson University, Jeff started his career and honed his hospitality service & business skills in the Hotel Industry, working with some of the leading hotel companies. Jeff expanded his craft and passion for hospitality while he was the Vice President of F&B at the SkyDome, [now Rogers Centre] in Toronto. Jeff joined Compass Group in 2004 to lead the Sports, Leisure & Entertainment Catering portfolio. Over the years, Jeff has been involved with many international special events, including the US Open Tennis Championships, Tennis Canada, the Breeders Cup, The Canadian Open PGA, The Masters Golf Tournament, World Youth Day, the Kentucky Derby and The Vancouver Winter Olympics. Throughout the years Jeff has actively been involved with the International Special Event Society (ISES), an association for catering professionals, (MPI), as well as served on the advisory boards of the Canadian Food Service Executive, the Toronto Entertainment District Association (TEDA), and a member of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE). Jeff has a passion for service. Service to his team members, and to his clients and customers.

Jerome Vos - President

Joe Cabral

Joe Cabral is the Vice President of the Strategic Alliance Group with Compass Group Canada. A position he was appointed to in September 2009. The Strategic Alliance Group is focused on understanding client needs and working with operations to develop business plans aligned with those needs. Joe's career in hospitality services began early with him receiving his Chef's designation at the age of 19. Skills he used to finance his university education at the University of Western Ontario. In 1985 Joe joined Compass Group (then Beaver Foods Ltd.) as a manager in the higher education market covering Hamilton, North Bay and London. In 1992 Joe was promoted to District Manager for south western Ontario responsible for education and business and industry. In 2003 Joe was promoted to Regional Director for SW Ontario, which included responsibility for the automotive sector for Ontario. Joe joined the Strategic Alliance Group in 2008 as a Senior Director and soon thereafter was appointed Vice President in 2009 reporting to the Executive Vice President, Strategic Alliance Group for North America.

Johanne Belanger

Johanne brings more than 30 years of experience across finance, operations, sales, marketing and general management roles, spanning many industries to her role as President, Healthcare and Senior Services. An internationally-acclaimed industry builder, Johanne is a multiple-award-winning business leader, international speaker, tireless volunteer and mentor. She joins Compass from Marriott International where she was Vice President, Field Marketing, U.S. & Canada. A Chartered Accountant, she has served as President of Freeman Audio Visual Canada, a large North American organization. She was also President and CEO of Tourism Toronto, managing a complex stakeholder network including all three levels of government. During her tenure, the company was recognized for the first time as one of "Canada's Top Employers". Proficient in English and French with a Fellows CPA designation (FCPA, FCA), Johanne applies her multifaceted skillset to several charitable and industry organizations. Close to her heart is a passion for supporting and mentoring women in business.

Jugveer Randhawa

Through the development and deployment of mobile applications, robotic delivery, AI & Machine Learning technology, the Company continues to accelerate the growth of Compass which is the largest food and services company in North America. Jugveer leads teams focused on Emerging Technologies, Data Science, Technology Development and Project Management and has oversight of all cybersecurity controls for client and consumer facing technologies. Since joining Compass in 2013, he has held various technology and digital strategy roles initially at Compass in Canada and subsequently across North America. Previously, he held a number of technology management positions in the telecommunications, retail and logistics industries. Jugveer holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Ryerson University.

Lauren Davey

With over 20 years of senior human resources experience, Lauren Davey brings a dynamic and innovative approach to her role as Chief People & Culture Officer at Compass Group Canada. Drawing on previous positions as People & Culture functional lead, business partner and community leader with Canadian and globally based organizations, Lauren is able to communicate her excitement and passion for areas such as leadership consciousness, talent development and management, change management, and organizational effectiveness. Lauren recognises that People & Culture can be a true business partner, actively engaging with key sectors to help drive business and achieve key corporate goals and objectives. Prior to joining Compass Group, Lauren worked as Chief People Officer at Hub International where she introduced a new talent agenda for the organization, established leadership and development initiatives with an emphasis on coaching and driving accountability, and created key initiatives targeted at women, Millennials and top talent. Lauren has also managed her own consulting business where she worked with senior leadership to facilitate cultural change, assisted start-ups and small to mid-sized companies with strategic design and planning, and provided coaching to key individuals and companies. She has also held leadership positions with many prestigious companies with head offices in Canada and around the world. She was the Head of Human Resources for Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) for Canada and Latin America and while National Organizational Development Leader for Sobeys, Lauren led a change management initiative for an ERP system-wide implementation. She also managed the National Learning & Development department at Allstream (formerly AT&T Canada) and was instrumental in supporting a re-branding of the culture and company from AT&T to Allstream. A strong believer that a company's greatest asset is its employees, Lauren has worked extensively throughout her career to ensure that employees have the training and support necessary to ensure that they can successfully meet the challenges they face. Lauren holds a degree in psychology from the University of Guelph and has also obtained her CTI Coach and CTI Leadership certifications through the Coaches Training Institute. She lives in the Greater Toronto area with her two teenage boys, husband and her three golden retrievers.

Michael R. Hachey

Michael joined Compass Group Canada in 2014 as President of ESS North America, Compass' remote services business; in 2017, he took on the added responsibilities of Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) for Compass Group Canada. As CIO, Michael is responsible for driving leadership in brand development, retail execution, marketing, culinary development, sustainability, and innovation. Michael is an experienced corporate executive who is a proven innovative brand and strategy leader who develops high performance teams to drive change throughout an organization. At Compass, his primary focus is delivering value for clients, guests and partners by constantly elevating the experience in the constantly changing food service industry. He is also passionate in driving economic engagement with First Nations communities and businesses though joint venture partnerships and procurement and has sat on the board of directors of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) since 2015. Prior to joining Compass Group Canada, Michael had a strong track record of driving and developing high performance organizations as his executive teams have won awards including: One of Canada's Best Managed Companies (Deloitte), 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures (Waterstone Capital) and Best Places To Work in BC (BC Business Magazine). In 2017, this track record continued as ESS was named to Achievers' 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America. Michael is a Chartered Accountant who also holds an MBA from Queen's University. Michael brings a unique and diversified skill set to Compass Group with a long track record of success from many different industries and functional roles, including Labatt, Bell Canada and Mr. Lube Canada.

Peter Kourtis

Peter brings over 20 years of exceptional leadership and consumer packaged goods executive experience to the role of Chief Growth Officer. With an MA in Leadership, he has the skills to foster a culture of collaboration and create inclusive and diverse team cultures to empower others and drive growth. At Compass, Peter's focus is driving sales and new business growth for the organization across all of our sectors. He has many years of experience in developing collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver multiple business critical priorities. Peter uses diverse internal and external perspectives as well as analytics to create impetus for change while establishing a bias for action in shaping the vision and culture of an organization. Prior to joining Compass Group Canada, Peter held various commercial and executive leadership roles within the beverage alcohol industry in both Canada and the US. Most recently, he was General Manager for Diageo Canada, providing strategic direction and decision making across sales, marketing, finance and innovation, delivering sustainable growth and market share gains. He also played an integral leadership role in achieving top three Great Places to Work in Canada in 2016, increasing employee engagement, for three consecutive years thereafter. Peter is a Business graduate and also holds a MA in Leadership. He resides in the Greater Toronto Area with his wife and two daughters.

Saajid Khan - CEO

As Chief Executive Officer of Compass Group Canada and ESS North America, Saajid Khan leads a vibrant and growing company with over 25,000 associates in more than 2,200 locations across Canada, Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. Since becoming CEO in 2010, Saajid has been driving company growth through a combination of client focused strategies and an overarching commitment to excellence in execution. His strong focus on empowering people and building teams has resulted in Compass Group becoming the largest foodservice company in Canada. Recognizing the potential for growth through digital technology, Saajid championed the creation of Compass Digital Labs (CDL), an innovative sector that has transformed the overall customer engagement through sector specific apps, online ordering, robotic delivery, AI technology and data intelligence. In addition, he has driven the introduction and expansion of Canteen and Avenue C into the Canadian marketplace resulting in the creation of client specific micro-market retail spaces. Since joining Compass Group in 1996 Saajid has managed operations for Compass on four different continents. His first role was as General Manager and then CEO of RKHS; a Compass Group joint venture assignment in India. Building on his success, Saajid assumed the role of Project Director for Compass Group Asia Pacific based in Australia. He was then appointed CEO and then Regional Director for Compass Group South-East Asia & China. Prior to moving to Canada, Saajid was based in the UK where he served as Director of International Clients and Market Development for Compass Group PLC.

Simon Wright - CFO

Simon Wright was appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer of Compass Group Canada in January 2021. Prior to joining Compass Group Canada, Simon was the CFO of Chartwells USA, Higher Education, where he achieved great success in delivery of exceptional growth and providing a platform for delivering the financial stabilization of new business. A fully qualified CIMA accountant, Simon was recognized with the Chartwells USA Difference Maker Award in 2019. He has spent his entire career in the food industry, working in multiple marketplaces, which include Sports & Leisure, Business & Industry, Education and Government Services and has gained multiple international experiences throughout his career. Before joining Compass Group USA in 2016, Simon held senior finance roles with Sodexo in the UK, and his experience includes commercial and operational finance, strategy and planning, and business development. A key highlight for Simon was leading the financial negotiations, planning and operation for retail and catering in the Olympic Stadium in London in 2012. Simon is married with a young family, he is a very keen sportsman, enjoys watching movies and spending time with his wife and children.
