Al Marquis

Al Marquis is one of the most influential leaders of the construction surety and risk management industry. He is a key advisor to many of the top contractors in the United States. Al provides strong leadership, guiding the growth and vision at Construction Risk Partners. In 1984, Al founded Marquis and Associates. By 1987, the company grew to be the largest provider of construction insurance and surety brokerage services in New Jersey. Attracting strong interest, during 1997, Al and his partners sold to Willis. Al held the position of CEO of the New Jersey construction practice from 1997 through 2000 and was subsequently appointed the Northeast regional construction practice leader in 2000. The shared vision was always to build a business that constantly delivered long-term value to customers. So, in 2006, Al and his partners founded Construction Risk Partners, built on foundations of true partnership with both clients and carriers.

Andy O'Brien

Andy joined Construction Risk Partners as a partner in 2017 and leads our Boston office. In this role, he oversees a team of colleagues and a book of business that stretches throughout the New England region. Andy's experience managing large complex construction risks has strengthened the firm's existing customer relationships and advance insurance CRP's market partnerships. Andy's extensive background in major account management, brokerage, and underwriting enterprise and project risk makes him a key contributor and unique resource within CRP's ever-expanding platform. Prior to joining Construction Risk Partners, Andy spent 11 years at Aon in Boston where he held various positions. His most recent position was as a member of Aon Construction's national brokerage team and the brokerage leader for the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Within that role, Andy was responsible for developing and implementing broking strategies and key initiatives on all insurance placements within his geographic region. Prior to joining Aon in 2006, Andy was a senior underwriter at Liberty Mutual where he managed a $40M book of construction business consisting of ENR top 250 contractors and wrap-up programs. Andy graduated from Bentley University in 2002 with a Bachelors' Degree in Finance. He earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 2006. Andy currently resides in Mansfield, MA with his wife, Kristin, son Benjamin, and dog, Ali.

Bill Harrison

Bill Harrison joined Construction Risk Partners in August 2013 as a partner and has over thirty years of experience specializing in construction and related industry groups. His experience in program structures ranges from guaranteed cost to large deductible, which in some cases are supported by captive insurance companies. His project types experience ranges from shafts and water tunnels to boiler biomass conversions and skyscrapers. Prior to joining Construction Risk Partners, Bill spent almost 20 years as a senior vice president with Aon Risk Solutions Construction Services Group overseeing the NJ construction insurance operations and the coordination of claims, loss control and day-to-day client services. In the late 90s, in addition to the coordination of services of a construction book of business, he was also a program manager for a number of wrap-up projects in the Northeast region.

Bill Linney

Bill is responsible for new business production, existing account management, and assisting in the management of the day-to-day operation of Construction Risk Partners. Bill's combination of excellent relationship building skills and strong technical capabilities has made him a leader in the area of construction risk management. He is active in numerous associations and is a hands-on solutions provider to some of the more complex risks in our industry. A seasoned professional in the insurance intermediary business, Bill was director of business development at Willis from 1997 to 2006, where he was responsible for new business production and existing account management. Bill worked in both the New York and New Jersey offices focusing on complex construction risks and designing and implementing wrap-up insurance programs for both owners of construction projects and large contractors. As Construction Risk Partners continues to grow, Bill will be counted on to provide strong leadership and continued advancement of the company's business development activities.

Chris Merrifiled

His experience has focused on technical health and safety design and implementation primarily related to federal OSHA expectations. Chris has worked with some of the largest companies in the world assisting them with their most complex issues, at the same time understanding the investment required to meet basic expectations set by various stakeholders. As part of his services, he has worked in management systems, performance-based and cultural safety, and technical design and assessment of programs and processes. Over his 30 years, he has assisted clients in a variety of diverse applications within the complex and complicated safety industry, working with Fortune 100 companies. Chris has worked extensively throughout the US and abroad for clients as a consultant for global consulting firms such as ERM, ARCADIS, ENSR (currently AECOM), and Haley Aldrich. Additionally, he worked in the construction industry and started his career at Texaco in Port Arthur, TX. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Murray State in Occupational Health and Safety.

Chris Weir

As the day-to-day service leader, Chris is the primary point of contact for all insurance we arrange on your behalf. He will ensure continuity of and accountability for the services we provide. His responsibilities include program design, renewal marketing and negotiations, contract review and carrier relationships. Chris is a technical expert with over 20 years of experience as an insurance broker. Prior to joining CRP, he held various service roles including Account Executive and Marketing Manager for several national brokers, most recently Marsh. Chris is responsible for some of the largest, most complex accounts in CRP's book of business. His areas of expertise include large loss sensitive programs, Controlled Insurance programs (OCIP's), Captives and large property risks. Chris has experience in a wide range of industries including Construction, Energy and Power, Transportation, and Public Entities. Chris earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, and his graduate degree from Boston University. He holds the Certified Insurance Counsellor (CIC) and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations. Before entering the brokerage community, Chris was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.

Christine Tobin

Christine joined Construction Risk Partners in 2018 as Director of the New York Wrap Up Group. She began her insurance career in 2000 in the wrap-up department at Allied North America which was then acquired by Aon in 2010 where she managed all facets of complex wrap-up programs to ensure a smooth operation and cost-efficiency from initiation to conclusion. Christine is instrumental at Construction Risk Partners in overseeing all aspects of the administration and account management of wrap-up programs for many clients including the servicing, audits, marketing, manuals, contract language, policy management, ongoing communication and overall relationship. Christine holds a New York State broker's license and attended Hofstra University where she studied Computer Information Systems. She also holds professional designations as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS).

Curtis Kappauf

Curtis joined Construction Risk Partners in 2014 as Director of Business Development. With over 15 years of experience he is the strategy leader in the development and growth of Construction Risk Partners sales operations nationally, including business development, assisting clients in their growth and forming strategic relationships with Accounting Firms, Commercial Banks, Investment Firms and Law Firms. Curtis has built his career on hard work, determination and a passion of helping others. Curtis is an active member of numerous local and industry associations such as the Long Island Contractors Association (LICA), USGBC- Long Island and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). Curtis is a lifelong resident of Long Island. He is a cum laude graduate of Dowling College and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance. Curtis has graciously given his time and resources to many worthy causes; he is an avid fundraiser for the Children's Organ Transplant Association and the Morgan Center. During his free time, Curtis enjoys golfing and participating in his children's youth athletic leagues.

Dave Glasser

Dave joined Construction Risk Partners as a partner in 2021 and leads our Florida office. With over 16 years of experience split between construction brokerage and construction management, Dave brings the ability to add valuable insight to our client relationships as well as to strengthen internal operations. Prior to joining CRP, Dave held various positions at an ENR 100 National Contractor where he was responsible for executive leadership of the company's risk management, quality control, warranty, asset management, and marketing operations. Previously, he held brokerage positions at Marsh & McLennan, Willis Towers Watson, and Alliant Insurance Services. Dave holds a Bachelors' Degree from Connecticut College, and a Masters' degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. A Risk & Insurance Magazine Risk All-Star in 2019 and 2020, Dave is also a 2020 South Florida Business Journal 40-Under-40 honoree, and a 2020 Engineering News Record Top Young Professional nominee.

Devin Ward

Devin Ward joined Construction Risk Partners as a Director in 2021 where he maintains responsibility for the development and growth of the Florida office. Prior to joining CRP, Devin was part of the Aon Construction Services Group leadership team, where he served as a Senior Vice President and Strategic Account Manager, responsible for the development of Aon's international General Contractor practice. Specializing in coverage innovation and customization, Devin collaborates with insurers to design insurance products that are tailor made to his client's unique risk profile and address a myriad of emerging construction risks. Devin is particularly adept in providing advisory and placement services in the civil infrastructure space having designed robust insurance programs on some of the largest, most complex projects across North America.

Erin Pfeiffer

Erin joined Construction Risk Partners in January of 2014 as Director of Claims and brings with her over 20 years of experience. Erin is responsible for assisting clients with all aspects of the claims management process. This includes development of cost saving risk management strategies such as Return to Work Programs, Litigation Management, Physician Accountability, Accident Investigation, as well as others. She advocates on behalf of clients on claim specific items such as reserve appropriateness, coverage analysis, settlement strategy and general claim management oversight. In addition, Erin is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives within the department. Prior to joining Construction Risk Partners Erin was a Senior Claims Consultant with The Graham Company where she was responsible for her clients Claims Management Programs and Claims Advocacy. Prior, Erin was a Claims Adjuster and Coordinator for EBI Companies, a mono-line workers compensation carrier. She began her career with General Accident Insurance Company in their accounting and human resources departments. Erin graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Latin American Studies with a concentration in Business. Erin is a licensed Insurance Agent and has obtained her Associate in Claims (AIC) designation provided by the Insurance Institute of America.

Frank Baxter

Frank recently joined CRP as the Director of Loss Prevention and is primarily responsible for leading the development of our loss prevention services. In this role, he oversees a team of colleagues who specialize in helping owner, developer, and contractor clients identify, assess, and effectively manage the various risks associated with their construction operations. In addition, Frank's experience managing a team of EHS professionals on large complex construction projects throughout the Northeast will deliver direct results to our clients. Frank previously spent over 7 years at Skanska USA Building Inc. where he was responsible for the execution of 1 million-to-350-million-dollar projects in sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, higher education, and retail. Frank was a key player with Skanska USA developing and delivering training programs for both the building and civil business units. One in particular was focused on understanding OSHA's recordability, reportability and electronic reporting requirements. Frank is a 1994 graduate of Temple University, having earned a Bachelors' Degree in Environmental Engineering Technology. In 2001 he received a Master of Science degree from Saint Joseph's University in Environmental Health and Safety Management. He earned his Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation in 2008. Frank currently resides in North Wales, PA with his wife Susan. Frank has one daughter who is an emergency room nurse for the Jefferson Health System and a son-in-law who is a Philadelphia Firefighter. Frank is also a volunteer firefighter and an EMT for the North Penn Volunteer Fire Company and is currently the Deputy Chief. Frank has won the highly coveted fire fighter of the year award for his efforts and is an adjunct professor at Temple University's Civil Engineering Program.

Fred Nicholson

Fred Nicholson joined Construction Risk Partners in January of 2011. He has almost a quarter century of construction surety brokering and consultation experience, working for two of the largest construction brokers in the tri-state area. Fred cultivates and builds strong relationships by integrating his experience with construction, credit and surety and forming long-term relationships with his clients and business partners. His strong relationships with contractors, accountants and lawyers are based upon mutual respect and admiration. Fred has built his career on hard work, passion and a tremendous appreciation for his role in the business.

Gary Rispoli

Gary Rispoli is a partner and the director of surety at Construction Risk Partners, and is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of our surety business. With over 20 years of surety experience, Gary brings clients unparalleled technical expertise and consultative services. He has vast experience maximizing surety programs that support contractors' business plans. His expertise in credit analysis, P3 projects and technical understanding of the surety business is a competitive advantage to clients. Prior to joining the team at Construction Risk Partners, Gary was U.S. field operations officer for Chubb Surety. In this role he was responsible for U.S. surety operations, portfolio underwriting risk management and establishing strategic direction. He has also enjoyed various management roles across the country, including vice president of the Greater Philadelphia and Mid-Atlantic regions. Gary is an active member of numerous local and national industry associations. He holds the Associates in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) designation, which is widely recognized as the premier designation within the industry and is a graduate of Villanova University.

George Decker

George joined Construction Risk Partners in August 2013 in the role of Managing Account Executive. George has over twenty-five years of experience within the insurance industry with the last 18 years specializing in construction. During his years in construction, George has been involved with orchestrating traditional casualty and property insurance programs for general contractors, construction managers, artisan trade contractors as well as real estate portfolios. His experience includes clients working in the areas of street and road, infrastructure, vertical construction, and solar. George has had extensive experience in insuring large US Government projects on both a domestic and international platform. In his role as Director of the New Jersey office his responsibilities include oversight of the property and casualty group in the day to day management of the New Jersey book of business, developing new and maintaining current market relationships, as well as production of new business. In addition to leading the NJ team he is responsible for a book of business and leading a team to deliver to each of our clients our company core values and services. Prior to joining CRP, George spent 12 years with Aon Risk Services as part of the Construction Services Group in Morristown, N J. During his initial years at Aon, George was a part of the Marine Practice group working as a marine cargo broker responsible for handling a book of cargo business. In 2003 George joined the service center as part of Construction Service Group and during his tenure at Aon worked his way to Vice President as an Account Executive where his responsibilities included overseeing a team to handle the day-to-day operations on a book of construction business. Prior to joining Aon, George worked as a marine cargo claims specialist and surety manager specializing in international business providing customs and NVOCC bonds. George graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seton Hall University receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management in 1995.

Gregory Steele

Greg Steele joined Construction Risk Partners (CRP) in August 2017 to help lead CRP's expansion and growth into New England. His depth of technical underwriting and brokerage experience paired with his ability to cultivate client and carrier relationships, will be significant assets to our national surety practice. He will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, while leveraging his expertise on complex surety deals to assist with program management of existing clients. Prior to CRP, Greg was Vice President, Surety Account Executive/Broker with Aon Risk Solutions in Boston, MA. In this role he was responsible for managing a large and diverse book of contract and commercial surety business, providing strategic advisory to new and existing clients, driving business development opportunities, carrier negotiations, and delivering innovative performance security solutions that aligned with organizational and risk management goals. Prior to Aon, Greg spent nearly seven years on the carrier side with Travelers and Liberty Mutual, underwriting large contract surety business. Greg is an active member of numerous local and national industry associations. He is a past President of the Surety Association of Massachusetts (SAM), the Vice President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), and is a member of the Association of General Contractors (AGC) of Massachusetts Program Advisory and BWiC Committees. Greg is a graduate of Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. He currently resides in Boston with his wife, Ashley, son, Callahan, and dog, Bowen.

James Vendetti

James brings approximately 15 years of experience in Construction Risk Management. Several of James past (at Starr Companies) or current clients, are in the ENR top 400. In addition to renewable business, James has been heavily involved (underwrote or managed the underwriting) in over 100 wrap up programs, ranging from $50M in CV, to a $7B rolling program. Prior to joining Construction Risk Partners, James served as Senior Vice President for Starr Companies, managing and operating all aspects of the Construction, Environmental and Transportation Divisions. James launched Starr's Primary Construction Division in 2010 and continued running the division until joining CRP in late 2017. He also worked throughout college as a Laborer and Field Supervisor at a Demolition Company. James graduated from Florida State University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and a minor in Finance. James currently resides in the NYC area with his wife Hannah, their two boys James III (Gus) & Pierce, as well as their two dogs.

Jay Sciortino

Jay entered the insurance profession in 1978 with Aetna Casualty & Surety in the claim department. Throughout his 14 years with Aetna, he gained a wealth of experience in multi-line claim handling, from personal lines to the most complex issues such as contractual claims, products and latent health issues. He was promoted through the ranks and achieved a manager's position in 1991. Jay joined Marquis & Associates in 1992 as vice president of claims, then moved to Willis in 1997, as senior vice president and New Jersey construction practice leader. At Construction Risk Partners, Jay is at the forefront of addressing client needs. He has established a working claim department designed to address the unique claim, coverage and contractual issues inherent in the construction industry. He has also played a large part in the development of the entire CRP client service platform. Recognizing the importance of industry involvement, Jay is very active in key contractor associations. He previously served as an associate member on the Board of the Associated General Contractors of NJ, and continues to be very active in the Associated Construction Contractors of NJ as part of the newly created associate board. He also sits on the safety committees of both the ACC and the UTCA and is called upon regularly to provide advice on insurance issues to both associations. Jay is regularly invited to share his knowledge with various groups. He has been a guest speaker and presenter at NYU, Rutgers and the Port Authority mentor/protégé program, to name a few. Jay graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics & finance. He earned his CPCU designation in 1991.

Jeff Burns

Jeff joined Construction Risk Partners in 2018 as a partner in the Denver, Colorado office. He brings over thirty years of risk management and construction brokerage expertise. Jeff was the previous Global head of Innovation Construction and Head of P3 U.S. for Willis Towers Watson (WTW). Before his time at WTW, Jeff was the global risk manager for HOCHTIEF/Flatiron, one of the world's largest multinational contractors. Jeff also previously held the role of senior director of product development for St. Paul Global Construction (which is now Travelers). There he developed specialized coverage forms for construction projects, including EPC and energy. Additionally, Jeff worked in product development for Caterpillar where he oversaw performance service guarantees of their products, including power quality backed by reinsurance and warranty analytics. Jeff has a degree in economics from Davidson College and he is a frequent speaker on public-private partnerships.

Jim Budwell

Director of SDI Risk Management and Claims, Jim joined Construction Risk Partners in 2015. Jim supplements the CRP SDI service team and brings enhanced support, service and perspective to both SDI Claims support and Risk Management support. Jim manages customer's SDI claims, and provides technical guidance. Jim joined Zurich Services Corporation in 2007 as a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant, involved with SDI and Professional Liability. Jim was responsible for account coordination, evaluating prospects and value-added risk management services for national and international customers. In 1998 he joined Urban Engineers, Inc. based out of Philadelphia, PA, working with governmental agencies in the heavy highway/heavy civil sector. He worked in several roles including project management, claims, inspection and project control services. Jim began his career in 1997 with Brower & Associates, Inc. in Rockville, MD. Jim gained valuable CPM scheduling experience and performed construction claim analysis for contractors nationwide. Jim received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from Drexel University, with a major concentration in Construction Management, in 1997. He went on to receive his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Phoenix in 2004.

Joe Charczenko

Joe Charczenko joined Construction Risk Partners in 2010 as a partner to lead the company's expansion. Joe designs some of the most creative and complex insurance solutions, including wrap ups, captive programs, Subguard®, collateral and other unique programs. His experience in understanding construction risk, cultivating client relationships and developing teams are all significant assets. Prior to joining Construction Risk Partners, Joe was an assistant vice president and Northeast regional construction manager for Zurich, overseeing the region's $350M+ construction book of business. His responsibilities included the management of customer and broker relationships, new business growth, underwriting quality, operational improvement, and talent development. Joe previously worked for Peter Kiewit Construction Company on the Boston Central Artery Project ("Big Dig") as an estimator, project engineer and superintendent. The experience gained working with a large contractor on large projects has been invaluable. In recognition of his accomplishments to date, Joe was named by Business Insurance as one of the "Top 40 Under 40 Brokers" in the United States of America in October of 2015. Joe received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering (structural design and construction project management) with honors from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Joseph J. Kent

Joseph J. Kent joined our firm in 2012 and is focused on building the Greater Philadelphia presence for Construction Risk Partners and delivering exceptional service and solutions to our clients. Joe joined the insurance brokerage community working for both Aon and Willis. He has held various roles for those firms, including Executive VP and director of Mid-Atlantic construction. He started his career as a risk manager for Marker, a steel erection company near State College, PA, in the late 1980s. From his early years managing claims, environmental and safety solutions for Marker, Joe was promoted to risk manager, which gave him the unique experience of designing a risk management program for a contractor in an extremely high hazard industry.

Joseph Poliafico

Joe Poliafico joined Construction Risk Partners as Director in January of 2023. His primary role is to assist with Business Development and Expansion, as well as Risk Advisory efforts across the Rocky Mountain and Midwest regions.

Keith Cornish

Keith joined Construction Risk Partners in 2017 and brings over 25 years of diverse experience in Corporate Risk Management and Brokerage Operations. Keith serves as team leader for some of CRP's largest and most complex clients and is intimately involved in all aspects of program design, marketing, and implementation for all coverages placed. Prior to joining CRP, Keith served as the Regional Senior Vice President for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and led their construction operations for the Northeast Region. Previously, Keith was Director of Risk Management for Hunter Roberts Construction Group. Keith had the unique opportunity to help create a risk management platform from scratch when he joined the firm as a start-up in 2005. During his time at Hunter Roberts, Keith established several programs which protected over $3,000,000,000 of Construction Volume in the Tri-State Area. He successfully integrated Risk Management into the construction operations where the use of these programs became the norm and a competitive advantage when pursuing projects. He was actively involved in sales presentations to project owners, explaining the benefits of their insurance products, prospect due diligence, and contract review. Keith extensive risk management background has added a new and valuable dynamic to CRP's risk advisory platform. Keith has also served with global brokers where he led Commercial Lines Operations, placed and managed insurance programs for Fortune 500 firms, served as an Outsourced Casualty Risk Manager for IBM Corporation, and led insurance due diligence efforts for mergers and acquisitions. He graduated from The College of Insurance in 1993, B.B.A., Risk Management & Insurance.

Kim Bernard

Kim joined Construction Risk Partners in 2015 as Director of the Long Island office. With over 15 years' experience she brings a wealth of knowledge on risk transfer, contractual liability, insurance costs and policy language. Kim has been the lead executive on both public and private accounts with annual revenues from $5,000,000 to $3,000,000,000. Kim's responsibilities range from overseeing the Long Island operations, strategically marketing renewals and ensuring that the client requests are always handled in a timely fashion.

Mark Gloriod

Mark Gloriod joined Construction Risk Partners in August of 2022 as a partner to lead the company's expansion into the Midwest. Mark's strengths include complex builders' risk and casualty programs, including practice programs, wrap ups, captive programs, collateral, and other unique programs. His experience in managing teams and having tremendous carrier relationships produces excellent results for owners, developers, and contractors. Prior to joining Construction Risk Partners, Mark spent 19 years at Aon running a brokerage for the central region and managing a $2M+ book of business. He was the acting strategy account manager on most accounts throughout the region and was intimately involved in all the Owners OCIPs and ROCIPs regionally and nationally. Before Aon, Mark worked in claims and underwriting in the workers compensation line of business for three prior employers. Mark was born and raised in the St. Louis area and continues to reside there. He earned his undergraduate degree from Washburn University in Topeka, KS where he was a 4-year letterman on the football team. Mark has been married for 27 years and has 4 boys.

Mary Bishop

Mary leads the wrap up practice group and is a managing account executive on a number of large contractor accounts. Her role involves providing a sophisticated level of risk management services to the company's largest clients from both traditional insurance placements and controlled insurance program perspectives. Prior to joining Construction Risk Partners, Mary managed numerous insurance programs for various OCIP and CCIP projects during her fifteen-year tenure at a large international brokerage firm. Her experience in insurance spans over three decades, with the past two decades committed to the service of the construction industry. Mary attended County of College of Morris and Caldwell University majoring in business administration.

Pete Forenza

Pete Forenza is a leader in the field of construction risk management and is known for his excellent technical knowledge and great people skills. Pete has the unique ability to create a strong sense of team between clients, carriers and internal stakeholders. He has designed and managed some of the largest and most complex wrap-ups in the industry for school districts with billion-dollar construction budgets, global pharmaceuticals companies, and some of the most prominent developers and contractors in the country. Pete joined Marquis and Associates in 1988, and was chief operating officer when Willis purchased the company in 1997. He was rapidly promoted to CEO of the newly-formed Metro Construction office, comprised of the New Jersey operation, the New York operation and the commercial and contract surety teams. Pete had previously held various positions at Aetna Casualty and Surety including casualty underwriter, marketing representative, and underwriting supervisor. This experience was the foundation for Pete's understanding of how to properly interact with insurance carriers and how to represent clients in the marketplace.

Richard Nocella

Rich joined Construction Risk Partners in November of 2010 as director of New York operations, and has been an associate partner since 2014. With over three decades of experience, Rich brings strong management skill and thoroughness in all construction insurance lines. At Construction Risk Partners, Rich remains paramount in the servicing and managing of clients and is an integral part of operations in the New York office. He continues to masterfully cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and former clients, as well as in the marketplace. Rich began his career in the insurance industry as a claim representative for Connecticut General Insurance Company and entered the broker arena in 1981. Rich continued his path as a broker and joined Contractors Planning Group in 1986 before moving to Willis and Aon as vice president. Rich has managed some of the largest and complex property & casualty programs throughout the country. His clients include general contractors, developers, heavy/highway, environmental and trade contractors of all sizes and types. Rich works closely with the partners at Construction Risk Partners in the development of our business. He is a graduate of St. John's University.

Rob Pitts

Rob Pitts has led the surety practice at Construction Risk Partners since inception and has developed many deep and long-term business relationships with our surety clients. Previously, Rob was senior vice president and practice leader of the New Jersey surety operation at Willis, where he managed, developed and mentored surety practice team members and assisted in the new business development effort of the overall construction practice. Rob joined Marquis and Associates in 1987 as vice president of surety operations, where he expanded the surety bonding operation and responded to the myriad financial and business issues unique to the construction industry. For over a decade, Rob managed and assisted in the development and growth of a corporate surety revenue stream. Prior to this, Rob gained broad industry experience serving several underwriting companies in the Illinois/Indiana region as well as the New York Metropolitan area before becoming regional surety manager of the Cigna Corporation.

Rob Rapp

Rob Rapp is one of the leading national product technicians for subcontractor default insurance (SDI). He is responsible for expanding and managing Construction Risk Partners' SDI practice, cultivating and servicing surety clients and providing technical and strategic leadership to the overall company. In 2011, Rob joined the team at Construction Risk Partners from Aon Construction Services Group where he was co-director of contractor default insurance and surety. His responsibilities included developing and managing the national default insurance operations along with management and business development of regional surety business. Prior to this, Rob held the position of senior surety underwriting officer at Chubb Surety. Rob is an active member of numerous local and national industry associations and is the former New Jersey Chapter president of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

Sarah Shepard McGuinness

Sarah joined CRP in 2022 as Partner, and CRP's new Real Estate Practice Leader. In this role, she is responsible for building a specialized real estate practice to complement CRP's existing construction expertise, positioning CRP to provide comprehensive risk advisory and brokerage services to the real estate industry. She brings a diverse background to the firm, having spent fifteen years providing risk management consulting services to property owners, managers, developers, and lenders nationwide. Prior to joining CRP, Sarah spent over six years at Custom House Risk Advisors, a leading risk management consulting firm. In her most recent role as Senior Vice President, Sarah led the firm's lender advisory division, where she and her team oversaw insurance for several large institutional lenders, closing over $9B in real estate and construction loans nationwide. In addition, she served as Senior Consultant to several REITS and large development clients, overseeing insurance and risk management for their client base. Sarah is experienced in property and casualty insurance, practiced in ancillary lines such as environmental and professional lines, contract authorship and negotiation (GC agreements, PMAs, tenant leases), loan negotiation, and daily risk management practices such as claims advocacy, crisis management, and loss control. Sarah is a graduate of Boston College, having earned a degree in Communications, with a concentration in English. Sarah is a licensed insurance Advisor in the State of Massachusetts. In her free time Sarah loves to cook, read, and enjoy free time at her family's home on Martha's Vineyard. Sarah currently lives with her husband Ben in Boston's South End.

Thomas Madden SR.

Thomas joined CRP as the Sr. Loss Prevention Manager at the start of 2021. He is primarily responsible for leading the safety, health and risk management strategies for the organization concentrated on servicing the CRP clientele in the NY Metro and New England regions. In this role, Thomas works hand in hand with the senior leadership and safety staff of owners, developers, and contractors to help assess and improve their risk mitigation and safety programs. This direct approach helps to improve the bottom line of their organization and further protect these entities' most important assets, their employees. Thomas is a strategic thinker and a natural leader in the safety field. He has built an extraordinary reputation for being able to work with various types of contractors and deliver a best-in-class approach to assist clients in their journey to improve safety and claims management within their respective firms. Thomas has dedicated his entire career to the construction safety field. He started out as a project safety manager for large, sophisticated general contractors prior to joining Construction Risk Partners. Thomas gained experience on reputable projects such as Boston's Central Artery project and the Pentagon Renovation project post 9/11. Thomas then spent the next thirteen years as the regional service lead for risk control at one of the top insurance carriers, managing large contractors with significant retention programs. From 2017 through 2020, Thomas was the Corporate Safety Director for a $300+ million dollar, top 400 ENR general contractor managing all aspects of field safety, claims management and insurance. Thomas graduated from Keene State College with a B.S in Occupational Safety, in the safety honors society. Thomas has continued his professional development over his career holding many industry certifications. He also currently sits on the national safety committee for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) organization and is an active member in the NYC Chapter of the NYS Association of General Contractors (AGC). Thomas currently resides in Connecticut with his wife, Karin, and their (2) sons. In addition to being an avid sports fan, he enjoys golfing, boating, snowboarding and coaching youth sports.

Tyler Oakes

Tyler joined Construction Risk Partners in 2017 as a founding member of our Boston office. Tyler brings an extensive national network of client and market relationships and has played a pivotal role in the organization's overall growth and development in New England and beyond. His expertise in underwriting, client advisory and brokerage within the construction risk arena make him a valuable asset for both existing and new clients. Tyler is also a leader in our Alternative Project Delivery initiative having led the brokerage and due diligence efforts on a number of P3 developments around the country. Prior to joining Construction Risk Partners, Tyler was an Account Executive/Broker within Aon's Construction Services Group. In this role, he served as a key advisor and account leader to both owner and contractor clients in supporting their risk management operations. Before Aon, Tyler was a Senior Underwriter within Liberty Mutual's construction unit. He underwrote and managed a book of risks ranging from mid-size to ENR top 100 contractors inclusive of wrap-up programs and other project specific placements. Tyler holds both his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations. He is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire having earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Management. Tyler currently resides in Boston, MA.
