Charles Crawford

Charles Crawford brings over thirty years of business management, executive and technology experience to ConsICE . Mr. Crawford owns and operates a small Virginia based information technology consulting company called ID Systems, Inc. Mr. Crawford was also a principal at InterAmerican Services, Inc., a consulting and trading company specializing in the sales of Aircraft, spares and components from US and European Original Equipment Manufacturers. Mr. Crawford also spent twelve years in different marketing and management functions with Avionics Systems Inc. ending his career there as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Crawford has extensive knowledge of the Aircraft and Aerospace market, manufacturing capabilities, commercial alliances and the merger and acquisitions arena. He was also a principal at TMP (Technology Management Practice of North America), a for-profit high technology incubator in the Bay Area that provided business advise to technology start-ups. Mr. Crawford holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and a graduate level certificate in E-Commerce from the University of Virginia.

Dr. Diane Murphy - Founder

Dr. Murphy, the Founder and Executive Director of ConsICE, Inc. is an accomplished information systems professional, business person, speaker and instructor, and is currently Faculty Director and CEO of the Information Technology Management Institute (ITMI), a technology training company based in Arlington, Virginia. Dr. Murphy holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Wales. She also holds a M.S. in Library Science and a Ph.D. in Information Sciences from the University of Sheffield, England. Dr Murphy began in the pharmaceutical industry where she became renowned for her work in the application of computer technology to drug research in the early 1970s. She came to the U.S. in 1980 as a consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and designed and developed computer applications to predict the toxicity of chemicals. She worked as a government contractor on a variety of information technology and telecommunications projects until forming her own company in 1988. The Procurement Automation Institute (PAI) was a software development company whose main product was an expert system used in the development of solicitations and contracts for government agencies, using both paper and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). She has taught professionally for 12 years. Her subject matter expertise is extremely broad including IT management, business, government contracting, computer security, electronic commerce, and Web technology. Dr. Murphy is an adjunct professor at the George Washington University, DC, School of Business and Public Management, the University of Pittsburgh, the Keller Graduate School, and the University of Virginia. She is best known for her work in electronic commerce where she is an accomplished speaker, and author. At itmi she manages the Electronic Commerce practice which works with organizations to ensure that they have the systems and business processes in place to take advantage of the business opportunities offered by electronic commerce. Her activities include helping companies develop electronic catalogs, implement EDI programs, develop effective Web sites, and implement effective information security programs. As an expert in government procurement, she also assists organizations in obtaining government contracts. Dr Murphy is Chairman of the Electronic Commerce Special Interest Group of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), and an active member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), the Association of Women in Computing, and Women in Technology. She is a Certified Computing Professional (CCP). She is also active in a number of not-for profit organizations. She is member of the Board of Directors for Dialogue on Diversity, a women's entrepreneurship educational organization, and is Head of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Center for Employment Training of So Others Might Eat (SOME).

Thomas Kim

Thomas offers a deep blend of management, strategy and operational experience ranging from the traditional and new media industries to the public and non-profit sectors. As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Silver Method, LLC, he not only frames the vision and strategic direction of the interactive media and software development firm, he also constitutes its core design and execution backbone, bringing his full gamut of capabilities into each client engagement. Prior to founding Silver Method, Thomas was Co-Founder and Director of Business Development and Operations for Red Viking, Inc., an online vertical content and commerce portal targeting early adopters of high technology consumer electronics. At Red Viking, Thomas assembled the management team, initiated business relationships, and developed the company's marketing and strategy plans. Outside the realm of the Internet, Thomas also gained valuable professional experience from public sector stints in both the legislative and executive branches of government, culminating at the White House working for President Clinton's Office of the United States Trade Representative. As for his non-profit sector commitments, Thomas is on the Board of Directors of the Mirae Foundation, Inc., the parent organization to the largest ethnic collegiate student conference in North America. Thomas holds a B.A. with honors from The Johns Hopkins University where he majored in International Relations and an M.S. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service where he concentrated in U.S. Foreign Policy and Diplomacy. He resides in Fairfax, Virginia with his wife, Nancy, a Corporate Litigation Attorney for Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue.
