CORNERTONES

One summer's night not too long ago, Sassie Mae was feeling restless. The ball game was over, and there was a little breeze that took her out to her porch. She could see some of the neighborhood guys having a beer under the corner streetlamp. Three of them (Dexter, Chip and Rocco) were singing...sort of...but no one was doing the really high parts. Twitching her skirt as she walked, Sassie went to the street corner to set them straight. The rest, as they say, is history. Or maybe that should be "her story".
