Manuel Antonio

The boutique hotels of Manuel Antonio have a style all their own with a wide range of budget options for all travelers! Manuel Antonio is one of the best places in Costa Rica for wildlife watching and birding - and when you consider that Costa Rica is incomparable for both those activities, you understand why Manuel Antonio was rated by National Geographic as one of the "most biologically intense places on earth." Costa Rica's favorite national park, Manuel Antonio National Park, is located and named after this slice of heaven on the Pacific that contains three of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the entirety of the country. The Arenas del Mar Beach & Rainforest Resort is one of the top boutique resorts in the Manuel Antonio area with high-end hospitality and accommodation. The resort has direct access to two secluded beaches (you can be picked up in a golf cart): Playitas Beach and Espadillas Beach. The resort boasts a variety of room options, including ocean front suites with Jacuzzi terraces. The property is fantastic for couples and families alike as rooms can be combined. The stand-alone bungalow style villas at Buena Vista Villas create an intimate rainforest experience, perfect for families and couples. The villas have full kitchens and a multitude of room configurations with high-end amenities, but that doesn't mean you'll need to do the cooking. The property also has an on-site restaurant connected to the pool. Golf carts are available from the front desk to bring you to one of the two beaches accessible from resort. Manuel Antonio has primarily boutique hotels. Between the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park are a multitude of small and intimate boutique hotels artistically built into the rainforest hillside. The hotels of Manuel Antonio are primarily boutique hotels. You won't find any booming resorts down here. Consider Manuel Antonio your gateway to the wild South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica where nature rules and tourism is still relatively underdeveloped compared to the expansive resorts of the northern coast. Budget options range here from luxury to moderate in a variety of styles. Additionally, Manuel Antonio boutique hotels offer privacy and beauty, without being too far off the beaten path! The cliff-side hotels of Manuel Antonio are located off the road that connects the town of Quepos to Manuel Antonio National Park. Not many Manuel Antonio hotels have direct beach access as hotel construction along the coast has been restricted due to environmental concerns. Travelers should anticipate taking the hotel shuttle or public shuttle down to the public beach and national park. Only two of our recommended Manuel Antonio hotels, Arenas del Mar Resort and Buena Vista Villas & Tulemar Bungalows, have direct beach access. While most hotels are not beachfront, they more than make up for it with incomparable views. These cliff-side hotels have incredible technicolor sunsets surrounded by rainforest, wildlife, and rocky coves. Manuel Antonio villas are a great way to house a large group or family together, without having to deal with separate hotel rooms. Gaia Hotel and Buena Vista Villas are two of our typical recommendations for luxury villa rentals in the area. The recently renovated Makanda By The Sea Hotel also has an assortment of high-end villas with a minimalist design and sprawling coastal views. Between Manuel Antonio National Park, whitewater rafting tours, kayaking to Damas Island, and some of the best sport fishing you'll find - there's something for every member of your group to enjoy when you head to this part of Costa Rica!
